Best Laptop For College 2018 Under 500

[Empty] I bough this bag for college in 2018. Little did I know I'd keep the bag this long or that it would become my personal travel companion. I frequently fly across the US for work (think an average of 30 flights per year) and this bag has never let me down. No matter how much I stuff it, it fits in the personal bag checker at my chosen airline and allows me multiple days of clothing and supplies. No other bag compares. When I need to replace it, I will purchase another. It is truly waterproof and stain resistant. The only thing that has broken or shown wear is a plastic buckle that has broken an inner snapping point. I think metal buckles would be an upgrade, however, I plan to attach one myself to repair my bag. It does get heavy when full (as to be expected).

[0.7 lb] No problems. My 2018 MacBook Pro immediately recognized it. Best capture device I’ve used so far. Works great with my Sony a6400 when running 4K.

[Aluminum] Needed it to recover data from 2 Mac laptop drives (a 2018 Mac AIr and 2019 Mac pro). It read both drives with no problem. Just remember that you will be able to see the files but you need to change the permission on each file before you actually can move or open the files. That is a Mac thing.

[3] I replaced a 2018 laptop moving up to 4TB mostly for image data. The new M3 CPU is fast. The transition was easy - used a backup to bring everything over - easy. Only one issue which is that I use Windows 10 with Parallels. WIndows 10 is not supported with M3 chip. Recommendatiopn - upgrade to Windows11 before transitioning. Save your self a lot of trouble. New laptop exceeds expectations, highly recommended.

[Extended] This laptop is my main computer. It replaced a 2018 MBP. I bought this computer a year after it came out and got a great deal on it. It is so fast that I wish I had bought it sooner. Next time I won't wait five years to replace my main computer.

[7.65 x 6 x 2.6"] I bought this to use at our local Junior College to tie into their audio video system from my non VGA laptop. Took off and worked like as advertised and the audio was excellent as well.

[IPS-Type LCD] I bought this laptop to use at college this school year. I wanted something that was light weight and portable, but didn’t want to sacrifice speed and battery life. This laptop has went far beyond my expectations and has truly blown me away. It is super light weight and has amazing battery life. I love how easily converts from a notebook to a tablet. It is amazingly fast and will handle anything I throw at it, even some games I like to play. The amount of RAM and SSD storage is super and very beneficial. I would highly recommend this laptop to anyone. Oh! Did I mention it only weighs about 3 lbs. The screen is absolutely gorgeous when displaying anything. Words cannot express how amazing this laptop is to me.

He uses a laptop constantly for school and needed this adapter to keep his laptop going. Also his laptop did not cone with the extra multi media connections so this worked out perfectly. Very pleased!
