[0.645 lb] Best photo head for landscape, panoramic, still, and especially macro photography. Outstanding piece of equipment. WORTH EVERY PENNY! Built solid and with the greatest precision. Lightweight, yet it handles the longest and heaviest of lenses (400-800) with ease and ABSOLUTELY no drift. SIMPLY OUTSTANDING! I shoot flowers and this has enhanced my cropping and critical focusing. A MUST HAVE for my work.

[67 mm (Front)] Manual focus and tripod are the prerequisites for macro photography. This lens completely corresponds to them. It has good optical characteristics. It is characterized by high quality materials and accurate assembly. It is convenient in work. High quality with a loyal price.

[3/8"-16] I am very impressed with the quality of the tripod, sturdy and nicely finished. I got it because my specific use in macro photography. It allows me to move the central column closer to objects. It is a bit heavy and comes with a nice bag. It is can be extended very high which was another reason for choosing this model but if you need a travel tripod it might not be the best option.

[Aluminum Alloy] My primary interests are in landscape and macro photography. This tripod gives me exactly what I need for both of these in a single package. In the few weeks I've had it, it's already proven to be very versatile and easy to use. The balance between stability and weight have worked out well for me. I've found the multi-angle center column to be extremely versatile and flexible.

[31.9" / 81 cm] I got this tripod a couple weeks ago and love it. So far, I have used it for macro and night photography. It's a great all around tripod. With the ball head it can rise above my head (I am 6 feet tall) and go down to a few inches off the ground. It feels sturdy at each height. The carbon fiber makes it quite sturdy and doesn't move much when you tap it. This is about the Same weight as my previous tripod, but with a lot more features.

[Nikon F] I just got this for my GH5 and love it. I have always liked macro photography and macro film and want to attempt it properly. You will need a tripod, possibly some lighting, and a lot of small detailed objects to photograph!

[Yes] Excellent ball head. Have two 55's and one 40. My preferred head for general photography other than a gimbal used for moving wildlife. Appreciate the low profile of these heads shortening the overall length of the head/tripod assembly. Very well made and smooth operation. And beautifully designed and finished. The one exception is macro photography using focusing rails that cantilever away from the center tripod axis. These heads tend to droop slightly. A friend who also uses the 55 experienced the same and he called RSS who refuted the problem. But it exists. The droop requires to aim the camera high allowing for the very slight drop. We both bought a different brand to use with macro. All of my units use the lever-release feature having no issues with a standard ARCA plate. Rather than rely on a thumb turn, the lever position tells me the camera us secure without looking. Especially useful at night when feel is king. But that said, I highly recommend the 55 for general photography preferring them to my Gitzo heads. I'll soon be purchasing a third 55 for an additional tripod. A professional recommended RSS products and I've never been disappointed.
