[Yes] Noise cancellation is excellent and the headphones include some functions that are quite handy when being used around others, such as at work. When noise-cancellation is active, you can cover the right ear cup with the palm of your hand to momentarily disable, allowing you to participate in a conversation or hear an announcement. There is a function that will temporarily disable noise cancellation if the headphones detect a nearby conversation (this can be disabled if you talk to yourself or prefer not to be interrupted).
