She watches videos on her cell phone often and I thought this was a better idea than leaning her phone against a bottle of ketchup or loaf of bread. The mount had a slight hangup when I first tried it out but seems to work fine now. The threads in the plastic parts are actually brass inserts that are moulded in place so they will probably hold up a lot longer than plain plastic would. The plastic is well moulded and seems to be pretty good quality. In theory, the mount will stand up without a tripod, but it isn't stable.
