Best Studio Headphones For Bass

[18 lb] You can't really go wrong with this set. You might read countless things like, I'll never go back to regular cans or Vastly improved my mixes and I forgot they were on my head, they replicate studio speakers that well. And these statements are all very true. There is certainly a heavy amount of marketing with these headphones. But, my God can you obtain such a clean mix with these. Will they replace my studio speakers entirely? No. But they are the best way to double check your mixes, no doubt. And it makes it so much easier to find tune EQ and adjust your mix. If you don't have quality studio speakers and a treated room and if these were all you had to go by, it would be acceptable. The only negative I would say about this set is that while the emulations of professional studios are fantastic, the headphones themselves could certainly be improved. While the bass reproductions work and they provide the data you need to make your adjustments in the mix, the bass is very muted and weak. Again, the necessary frequency reproductions are there but it needs more oomph. I think what the VSX system needs is just a higher ohm model with some higher quality bass drivers. Why not provide a premium edition? All in all, I don't think anyone could actually be disappointed with these.

[Phantom Power] I purchased a set of these for my home studio after using them in a variety of settings in the studio where I work. As others have mentioned, the bass response can be a bit deceiving. But I wouldn't recommend mixing with headphones alone anyhow. For composing/writing in the middle of the night or tracking live instruments, these headphones are perfect. (And much cheaper here, I might add).

[Mono] I was looking for affordable studio headphones to mix and master my own music tracks, basically guitars, bass and drums at night so my family wouldn't have to sleep in a tent ;-). As of today the sound quality is very good. The bass is not overwhelmed, mid and highs are very well balanced. If you are bass and highs lover they are not for you. They are not 100% studio monitors replacement but for occasionally work at night and tracking are perfect. I have to mention that my head is a size of melon so I'm always worry about the comfort. In this case is no issue.

[0.175 lb] Saw these headphones listed as PC Magazine's Best for Affordable Studio Headphones, and I totally agree. I haven't used them for any studio stuff, but they're great for gaming and streaming. Very pleased with what you get for the price. Comfortable, great sound, and cool features (can plug into the left or right side, plug has a lock on it, comes with color bands to identify each chord, adjustable head band).

[1/4" TRS] I have had these headphones for almost 10 years. In these 10 years, they have been THE BEST headphones I have used for mixing. I have used a bunch of headphones and studio monitors in that time, and nothing has beat them out, not even the infamous Sony 7506 (given, cheaper, but more prevalent headphones in studios) Things to note with these headphones; they are not super low end present. If you are getting these to listen to consumer music, you may not like them because they are not "boomy" or "full". These headphones are for users who are looking for definition and clarity for making a solid mix. The other note is a MINOR complaint; the part of the headset that rests on the top of your head/hair has worn out for me. The muffs also wore out, but I replaced them. If there is a way to replace the foam under the band, please let me know because I would love to have them looking brand new again. I broke the cable that came with the headphones by accidentally vacuuming it about 2 years in (stupid, I know), but the detachable cable saved me some money. Also nice if you want to swap out different size cables. I would highly recommend these to anyone looking to invest in headphones for studio mixing.
