[NAT, SPI] My cable-company-provided wifi router was giving acceptable speeds, but the coverage was spotty in the corners of my (modest sized) house, so I was looking to upgrade to something a little nicer and with better management features. It's also one of the few routers that has a 2.5Gbit LAN port, for those with a home server with 1Gbit wired network (which I have). The vertical monoloth design is a lot different from the antenna-encrusted models from most other companies, but reviews claimed it actually has good coverage, and indeed it delivered. I now have a solid signal everywhere in the house, and get ~400Mbit wireless just about everywhere, increasing to just under 600Mbit nearby, with no drops to speak of. It's a little bigger than it looks in the pictures, but it's got a pleasant, unflashy design that looks WAY better sitting in the average living room than most routers if your home decor isn't spiky gamer hangout or Cyberpunk den. Just quietly blends in. Also, not covered with aggressive flashing lights--three subdued status LEDs, and you can even disable them if you want. The config software is impressive--it appears to have a full Synology-style OS, with a huge range of features going beyond just networking, if you're inclined to use it as a basic NAS or the like. Took a little while to get used to something so far beyond the simple setup pages of a lot of routers, but certainly powerful, and it also doesn't feel sluggish navigating around. The only possible complaint at this point is that the wired internet routing doesn't seem to be hitting quite the same speeds as I was getting using the cable company's router directly (maxing out at around 800Mbit instead of the ~900Mbit I've seen before), but it's really hard to say for sure whether this is this router's fault or the cable company's. 5 |

[6.54 lb] Excellent system. Easy to setup. Really strong wifi signal. Great wired router. Really good for extending your wifi coverage via either wireless backhaul or wired backhaul. We are getting much better wireless speeds than the other high end router this replaced. 5 |

[450' / 150 m] Excellent. Plug into your router and get more ethernet ports for all your devices! Awesome! Small, light, and wired, Cant beat the price! No drivers to install, nothing to configure. Love it. 5 |

[External] The COVID19 work from home put more wired PCs on my network router. This was used to expand the number of available ports. Works great. 5 |

[US (3-Pin)] The TP-Link AV600 Powerline Adapter is a little jewel for extending a wired Internet connection. Simply plug one unit into an AC wall outlet near a router and the other unit into an AC wall outlet in the area where one wants a wired Internet connection. Then, connect the unit by the router to the router with an Ethernet cable. Next, connect the other Powerline adapter to the device, e.g. computer, with another Ethernet cable. Now, one has a wired connection to the router. It works seamlessly by using the electrical wiring in one's building. 5 |

[4.07 lb] Had a gaming wifi router that was starting to have issues such as random devices getting booted off and then having to try multiple times to connect. Other oddities such as some admin screens failing to load, so even though it wasn't very old I decided to replace it with a good router. This one certainly fits the bill. I work from home so I wanted something solid and reliable with a UI that makes configuration clear. I have a Sinology NAS so I thought I would try out their router and wasn't disappointed. Had things set up in no time. I also appreciated being able to set up groups with hours restrictions to keep my kids from doing late-night browsing. Supports add-on software modules that enable it to provide additional services such VPN or DNS, but everything I needed was already baked in. I pretty much run my cablemodem into the router and then set up my WiFi for most devices, plus a few hard wired ones such as my NAS. I have 500Mb internet service and was able to get 386Mb via wifi to my older laptop. Local file copies hit slightly higher than that at 400-420mbps using the 802.11ac wifi connection, so ~400Mbps seems to be the upper limit on wifi. . Local wired connections hit 110MBs file copies which means it's pretty much maxing out what a 1Gbps connection can handle and the router seems fine with this throughput. I don't have any 2.5Gb devices so I couldn't see how that went. Looking forward to keeping this router around for a long time. 5 |
