[Download] This is a broadcast-style microphone (front address), but it is NOT a dynamic mic. It is actually a small-diaphragm condenser microphone with a BIG sound. You get the absolute clarity and detail you'd expect from a small-diaphragm, but if you run it through a tube-based preamp (UA-610B for example), you also get a warm and full sound. To my ears, the clarity and detail are far superior to the SM7B or the RE20, and depending on your preamp, you can obtain that darker, rich sound of the SM7B (great for podcasting) or you can achieve sonic clarity (great for voiceovers). I personally run mine through a Cranborne EC1 preamp into the PreSonus Quantum 2626 interface and into the Studio One 5 Professional DAW. The EC1 can provide total sonic clarity or add a bit of mojo depending on your taste and needs. The only downside of this mic is that if you're looking for background noise rejection, you'd be better off with a dynamic mic (SM7B, RE20, etc.). This is a condenser mic and it shows in its sensitivity. If you have decent acoustic control over your space, I highly recommend the ETHOS for broadcast, podcasts, streaming, and voiceovers.

[Yes] This one is an interesting and good-sounding microphone. It feels like a broadcast microphone with decent noise rejection, but it sounds like a condenser with a little bit of mid-forwarding sound.

[Black] I was looking for a studio shotgun microphone did some research and came across this on a YouTube review and decided to give it a try and boy does it fit the bill perfectly. When they say broadcast quality if you have a good interface to record with you get broadcast quality. I like the idea of no-frills just plug it in give it phantom power and enough gain and you get a quality recording.

[Omnidirectional] I used this microphone on a daily basis in my many years in broadcast news. When I moved into government, the first thing I did was to order one of these mics, because of its durability and that the sound is and always has been crystal clear and true to the original voice.

[Black] This microphone is being used in an educational setting for a high school broadcast journalism class and is perfect for our students' needs, plus it is easy to use, durable, and compatible with our camcorders. And the low price fits our low educational budget!

[Omnidirectional] Over the years I've acquired a small arsenal of microphones from the very expensive (costing over a thousand dollars) to the basic inexpensive models.Years ago while working on broadcast productions, I came across this industry workhorse beauty after hearing the clarity and richness of the broadcast sound in many early productions. When I inquired, the microphone was the Sony ECM-55b. And it was a staple in tv and productions.I own a few of these microphones. As time goes on, they seem indestructible! They've been tossed about, stomped on, rained on, abused by amateurs ... you name it .. even chewed on by pets.Like the old Timex Watch ads: They keep tickin and take a lickin. Many times, when I can't decide amongst my expensive mics, I reach in my bag for this one. Even If you have a flip style cam, grab yourself a XLR to mini plug for a few dollars and with the Sony, you've just added pro style sound to your production. After auditioning microphone after microphone for a series I'm filming this month, again I've chosen this microphone. You can't beat the quality built into this baby.

[None] Senal's ENG-18RL broadcast quality dynamic microphone lives up to its promise. The mic picks up voices clearly from two or three feet around clearly and evenly. Working on video projects for an organization for adults with developmental disabilities, our interviewers have an array of talents and varied abilities. This microphone simplifies the interview process by eliminating the need to pass the mic back and forth. This allows our interviewers to focus on their other on-air skills. I would recommend this as an excellent mic for entry-level or experienced broadcasters.

[4.86 lb] The best USB microphone I've ever used. Paired with their software NVIDIA broadcast. It's 10/10. Amazing sound quality and very clean overall. I only wish it didn't have the logo on it from both sides, but that's easily fixable. Overall, for anyone looking at USB mics. This one definitely should be on your list!

[0.02 lb] Purchased as a replacement for my Sennheiser broadcast headset microphone. Fits well and works as expected. Good choice.
