Camcorder With Xlr Input

[Empty] I needed an XLR mic input for my Canon G40 Camcorder. This a very reasonably priced Tascam Dr70 D mixer/ backup sound recorder. I have tried many different mics and I can dial in the different sound levels for every mic very easy. The box is well made. It easily fits under my Camcorder on a tripod. The case is made of heavy plastic, not cheaply made.

[Black] This is a great quality coiled XLR cable. It is about 6 to 18 length. For camcorder applications, be aware that there are 2 90 degree connectors which can make the camcorder side connection difficult or impossible because of the 90 degree connector. If you need 2 90 degree connections on a short and compact XLR cable, this is perfect.

[Black] I bought this 5 pin-F to two 3 pin-M XLR connectors to connect an Azden SMX-1000 stereo microphone to a Canon XA-10 camcorder. This cable by Lewitt was half the price of the other such cables available. I gave it a try and it works just fine. Originally the cable is to be used with a dual capsule microphone for drums. Instead of 1/2 or L/R, the two 3-pin ends are green and white colored. Plugging the green labeled cable into the no1 XLR connector of the camcorder and the white labeled into the no 2 XLR connector, provided correct stereo (i.e. left is left and right is right). I also plugged the cable into the two XLR connectors of my Mackie 402 mixer, and again, it worked fine. Built quality is also good.

[0.1" (2.8 mm)] So glad I got this after I kept putting it off, with thoughts of another cable with my same drawbacks. Yes, my Canon XA50 camcorder with audio XLR inputs in handle is perfect now! My previous 40cm XLR high quality cable was as good as it got, the connection out of my shotgun mic extended near the top handle and the cable had to twist around to do a right angle into the handle input. It was clunky and got in the way with certain movements. It wasn’t terrible, yet after using this new coiled lightweight cable with low profile connections it basically as if I just have a shotgun mic and no cable at all. Allowing me a huge amount of confidence to move my camera without anything getting in the way. No perceivable sound quality issues with the thinner cable. If you have any camcorder/camera with XLR inputs built in I cannot recommend these high enough. I’m not a cablephile I am a pragmatist when it comes to function, I’ll pay extra for that cable that works.

[0.19 lb] Are you destitutely poor? Need professional audio for your handheld camcorder? Buy this instead of an XLR adapter. Plugs directly into the microphone jack on your camcorder and the end of an XLR cable or a shotgun mic.

[Yes] Needed to adapt RCA outputs on a device to an xlr 1/4 combo jack inputs on another device. This cable did the job nicely, without introducing more points of failure (an unbalanced 1/4 input to balanced xlr output device). Worked very well since my input device has the combo jacks.

I originally tried another name brand that has XLR outputs since I'm sending the signal to my audio console (the very thing most people complain about those, is the very reason I wanted them). They where also made of metal and mounted so close to the drum shell, I felt the need to wrap them with tape. They interfered with the mounting system of my rack tom, and 2 of 4 of them failed within a couple uses (the solder joint on the piezo pickup broke off). Okay - I said all that to say - this little guy didn't have any of those issues. Mounts easy, low profile, been working reliably. I had to build a 1/4 to XLR adapter due to my use case, but that's proven to be worth it. I intend to buy more of these.
