[0.125 lb] Works perfectly with my Panasonic gh5

[Front] It works and gives me peace of mind knowing that it's made by Panasonic/for Panasonic... I needed to power my GH5 camera from an external brick battery. I found less expensive options but chose to use the Panasonic models to ensure proper connection. I have no idea if the others work well, but I did not want to take chances with a third-party option when it comes to Connecting my $2000 camera

Too soon for a full review. First blush testing shows this to be the best sensor yet. The ergonomics of the camera are the same as the full frame version. They have added more articulation to the LCD screen, and a built in fan. Slapping the same lenses I use on the GH5 and GH5s reveals an even greater degree of sharpness. Exciting! The fact that you can record in ProRes directly into the camera is fantastic. And the rich number of codecs available is unparalleled in any other camera. This iteration of the firmware limits the ProRes to the 5728 x 3024 formats, unfortunately. So a 256GB CF card only holds about 25 minutes of video. But Panasonic has promised that future firmware will allow for SSD recordings through the built in USB-C port. And that more flavors of ProRes (6 currently) will be available. (We need 1920x1080 ProRes and ProRes LT to make this more practical.) But other codecs include H.264 and H.265 in various flavors - there are 36 different options which is really incredible if not a bit overwhelming. They say that the autofocus is improved, and there is a lot of menu options for this, but I rarely use it. Photos look lovely. Note that the RAW format is not yet updated for Adobe editing. Panasonic has a free software called Silkypix that allows you to edit RAW until Adobe releases their update. I am as excited about this camera as I was about the GH5. And at this price point, I will easily be able to buy a second copy.

[50,000 Hours] I use this with my Panasonic GH5 and can easily power my camera for 4+ hours with a NP-F970 style battery. So far, after several gigs, I haven't had any unexpected power losses. The battery fits snugly. Even when running and gunning, I don't worry about it falling out. I have also used the USB ports to power my Tascam DR60D-MkII recorder and my phone. Amazingly it can power both those at the same time as my camera. I'm not sure how reliable it is when powering multiple devices at once... but it seems to work. For such a simple piece of Kit, I'm pretty impressed with the Blind Spot and will probably order another one soon.

[5.5 lb / 2.5 kg] As a fan of Panasonic Micro 4/3 cameras, especially the GH4 - long lasting battery life was always the foundation of why it was my go-to camera for any situation. While I love the upgrades on my GH5, battery life left a lot to be desired. Not only does the Vello double the battery life, the portrait mode buttons, design and texture really transforms the GH5 into a premium looking camera. I feel more confident doing long takes or extended interview shoots with the Vello.

Let me start by saying that there is no perfect unicorn camera, but this camera presents itself as a next wave, mirrorless powerhouse. Panasonic upgraded this camera from the GH5 family in so many ways. The list of features all deliver and the look of the image is just incredible. I have used it on a few shoots and have not been afraid to use any of its video quality settings. I have no fear of overheating and the unlimited record limit keeps my mind on my shots and not the camera. Some things on it could still be better (I'm not going to say it), but it is a big improvement from the GH5. Also, in a time when camera manufacturers can easily get greedy, Panasonic obviously chose to keep the price at a point that makes sense.

[1.23 lb] I have used a variety of mirrorless cameras, starting with Sony A7s and A7rII and then the GH5 and most recently the Canon EOS R. The only camera that Ive held on to long-term is the GH5, so I was very excited when I heard Panasonic was releasing a full-frame mirrorless camera. Now that it has arrived, it is truly the most professional, robust, and beautiful mirrorless camera Ive used.  To complement my GH5, I wanted a full-frame mirrorless as well. I bought and tested out the Canon EOS R, but found it frustrating ergonomically and with hindered video specs (big crops, no stabilization, etc), it required a lot of compromises. It took beautiful images, but for video (which is what I mostly do), the GH5 outperformed it in every way.  Next to the EOS R (and definitely all the Sonys), the Panasonic S1 feels like a true professional camera. Its a bit heavier than the other mirrorless cameras, but since I mainly use Sigmas 24-70, 18-35, or 50-100mm, once you have the lenses on there, its not a huge difference. Its actually more comfortable because the grip is so nicely designed.  REALLY looking forward to the 10-bit, V-Log update in a couple of months as well as the Sigma EF L adapter in a few weeks. Will really help make this camera shine.  With Sigma officially on board to make a lens collection and with Panasonics track record of amazing lenses, the L-Mount and Panasonics full frame cameras will be the system to beat in the near future.

[1] I bought these for a Panasonic G9, which probably does not really require cards this fast (unlike a GH5), figuring I might someday get another camera that can really use this speed. I haven't attempted to test the speed or number of burst shots, but between the camera and these cards I get all the speed I need. I've used them for four months now with no problems. The company seemed responsive when I emailed them before purchase with some questions about the warranty. I did register online for the three-year warranty.
