[Multi Coated] I bought this filter for the Great American Solar Eclipse of 2017/8/21. Yes it is expensive, but if you are a serious solar eclipse chaser who travels around the world to catch a glimpse of it, this is a must have item to capture the phases of the solar eclipse in sharp, white detail. Please view the compare and contrast photos between a disposable filter and the Marumi filter.

[0.15 lb] No surprises , as good as usually. I get it to make custom solar filter for eclipse.

[Glass] I'm using the ND1000 as a solar filter for a wider view of the solar eclipse. Technically it is not 15/16 stops but for a wider angle I'm not so worried about camera damage on a DLSR. I probably would not try to use it with a mirrorless camera due to more extended sun time on the sensor.

[0.014 lb] Just like it states in the headline. Additionally, I got my hands on a video filter for the eclipse but I did not have a solar filter for the camera. A pair of scissors and a little tape and viola - the camera can not safely record the eclipse without burning out the sensor.
