Camera In A Screw Head

[0.1 lb] This quick plate fits very well my Nikon camera and works well. The workmanship is outstanding. Well designed, it would not spin even when fastening screw is not fully tight. The only complaint I have is retaining screw used. The screw should have large slotted flat head, which allows to be tighten with coin or other tool. Instead they used regular pan head screw, which does work well poorly and destroys otherwise very well design piece.

[Fluid Head] This tripod is optimized to be light-weight and compact. It has only the most basic features. You may wish to purchase a leveling base head to ease configuration for level horizontal panning. The head has four screw knobs for adjustments: 1) Tighten and loosen the horizontal pan locking screw. A half tightened screw results in jerky camera pans, not increased and decreased smooth resistance.  2) Tighten and loosen the vertical pan locking screw. A half tightened screw results in jerky camera pans, , not increased and decreased smooth resistance. The act of un-screwing must be done gingerly to prevent camera shake. The vertical pan includes leveling springs (non-adjustable for camera and lens weight) to aid in smoothly returning to (roughly) level vertical position. 3) change the angle and rotation of the handle. 4) Tighten and loosen the Arca-Swiss plate. The tripod is made of aluminum with plastic flip locks. The legs are easy to extend, lock, then collapse. The tripod feet can change between using rubber or integrated spikes by screwing the rubber segment up or down on the foot to expose or cover the spike. The tripod comes with a carrying case that includes a shoulder strap.

[Manfrotto 501PL] I'm using this plate as a second one to use with my Oben MVH-4490 Mini Video Head, instead of having to screw and unscrew the plate all the time ,whenever I want to switch devices. Instead, they would be already mounted on my devices (iPhone, mirrorless, DSLR camera etc) and ready to swap immediately. It is all metal and well machined, and of course, it has safety pins to prevent your camera from sliding off the video head, front or back. [Black] I got this to mount on an existing Vivitar tripod set that I had, moving from a pan/tilt head to a ballhead. This works well, is nicely made. I love the pan control, not that I use the head to pan the camera, but since this does not have a quick release head like the $$$ others, its nice to loosen the pan control to let you screw in the head to your camera without having to spin the whole tripod. Also nice is that in addition to the advertised 1/4-20 screw, this unit has a bushing for 3/8-16, so when I replace the tripod legs with a more modern set, I can keep this ballhead as a transition.

[1x 1/4"-20 Male] Love this matched product with the Sirui T-2205X 5 section carbon fiber tripod (see my review on that). This head is amazingly smooth and holds the camera sturdily in place. Love the knobs which are critical in a tripod head. Also has redundant locking mechanisms to ensure you do not drop your gear while mounting or dismounting. Another truly amazing feature is the screw mechanism has a lift action turn lever so you do not need a screw driver or coin when tightening the screw to the bottom of the camera. I never expected to see this and am thankful for it every time I use it. Wonderfully crafted and perfectly functional.

[10 x 3 x 2"] I need to raise and lower the camera a lot, and the central column on my Manfrotto doesn't have enough range for my needs. I was constantly having to extend and retract the legs, which is a pain. I asked B&H for a longer column and they said there wasn't one but they suggested this instead. It did the trick. With the tripod legs and column retracted, the extension takes it to table-top height, and the camera can then be raised using the tripod column, the extension, or (to get extra height without extending the legs) both. Despite its light weight it seems robust and sturdy. Do be aware that if you are using it with a Manfrotto you can't just screw off the head to install the extension - there's a grub screw underneath the Manfrotto head that you have to loosen first, otherwise you can break it.

[1.15 lb] When I was looking for a monopod tilt head I found the Oben V-R2 at a very reasonable price. So I checked out the reviews. Most of them were very good but several stated that the screw came loose and fell out. I ordered it anyway expecting to have to fix the problem after it arrived. To my surprise the screw was tight so I worked the daylights out of it and the screw was still tight and everything worked as it should. I then took it out to take pictures in a park. I put my camera on and off maybe fifty times or more. It never failed me. the screw that tightens the head worked well as I changed the tightness many times depending on how I was using my camera. Again I had no problems, I could lock my camera in any position and it stayed there. It is a beautifully made of metal that I believe will last for decades. It is easy to mount and remove the camera and when mounted it is locked very securely. This tilt head from B&H is a winner!

[Arca-Type] have a Benro Ball Head on my Carbon Fiber tripod. This Quick Release plate works well with their Ball Head. The mounting screw is the standard 1/4 20 slotted screw type, with a tightening ring and a hex head socket. A hex head wrench that fits the hex head screw for extra tension is included, along with a thread protector for the mounting screw. It does say it's compatible with Arca mount but I had to remove the two anti slip hex-screws for a proper fit on my Giotto Head.
