Canon 85Mm Lenses

[Manual Focus] As previous owner of two Canon FD 85mm 1.2 lenses, and switching to Sony mirrorless, I wanted a low cost alternate and from it in the Rokinon 85mm 1.2 lens. Focusing a was smooth as silk and combined with magnification view provided by the a7III, produced outstanding images with that magical low depth of field. One exception, this lens is much sharper than the Canon FD counterpart. Summary, no regrets.

[48 x 4.5 x 4.5"] I was very interested in getting into macro photography, but did not want to spend hundreds of dollars for a dedicated lens at this point. I decided on extension tubes. After reading many reviews, I found these Vello tubes. They are wonderful for my needs, and sturdier than I expected. I have no trouble getting them on/off the camera/lenses, and they fit well with no looseness. I enjoy the flexibility of the various combinations of focal length. For a minimal price, I can use these extension tubes with my Canon 70D, using either a Canon EF-S 15-85mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Lens (at 50-85mm) or Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS STM (at 55-100mm or so). Auto-focus works fairly well with these extension tubes, but sometimes manual focus is required. A tripod is a must for my equipment, as my lenses aren't very fast, but that's ok. Of course, with longer exposure times comes the frustration of moving subjects, e.g., flowers, on even a slightly windy day. With a lightbox, this won't be an issue. The extension tubes are a nice addition to my camera bag.

[Yes] Nice pouch for exchanging my 24-70mm and 85mm Canon lenses. It holds tight on my belt and the two pouches are great to hold one lens and the lens caps. Fast and efficient.

[Manual Focus] This and the Samyang(they're the same thing, just different branding), are fantastic lenses. The focus is way faster than the Canon 85mm f/1.2, and the lens is significantly lighter and smaller. The images are sharp, and the AF hit rate with this one versus the Canon is better too. If you told me I would say this before I tested these out together, I would have never believed you, but it's true. Save the money so you can go get another lens and get this as your 85mm in your bag.

[T22] This glass is has little CA , is built well and neutral so you can use these lenses in the real world... the DZO vespids are smaller and have a full set already...true!(as of writing only the 35mm,50mm,85mm and soon the 24mmare avail) But for about the same money you get lenses that are marginally softer and I mean barely... but but THE lack of CA cant be understated... the size and weight is small for cine not as small as dzo but I LIKE the fact they dont look like toys on my Red Gemini... I have all the current PL 35-50-85 and I used recently on Green screen all 3 performed brilliantly... these are the best BUDGET cine lenses I have ever used and Meike is straight forward about how they are able to that. Personally I can manage with just the 35 50 and 85 for most corp stuff etc but my cine work I am waiting on them to release 16mm Hopefully the 24mm ships in Nov but times are tuff.... Anyway- I cant belive the IQ and Build Q at this price - I have NO issues with filter threads as another reviewer mentioned however a good basic matte box for these on the cheap is the Tiltaing Mattebox that takes 1 4x5.65 if you just need a solution -note-you need the 85mm outer adapter for the Tilta to work in clamp on mode*its in accessories I think... anyway this is a fantastically clean lens that gives me build and mechanics needed to work in the real world...so long sigma art photo glass. !!!

[Full-Frame] Works great, buttery smooth and I probably will not buy a canon 85mm because this was such a great purchase. I have a canon r6.

[f/1.4] WOW!! I used to have the Canon 135 f2 but sold it right after receiving this Sigma 85mm f/1.4. Super sharp with gorgeous bokeh! The only negative...the ONLY one...is that I hate the lens weight. It is kind of heavy on your neck. Probably i need a shoulder belt to carry the camera with this lens.

[Autofocus] I sold 4 lenses, including a Nikon 85mm 1.8D, and I still needed to pay extra to get this. Totally worth it. When I first tried this out, I was blown away by how awesome this lens is. It's much sharper than my old 85mm 1.8D, and is by some distance the sharpest lens I have. I think it's going to be my go-to lense for a long time. Bokeh is top-tier, too. If there's any complaint, it's the size and weight of this lens, and it WILL take up space in your bags. Still, if you're looking for the absolute best quality, this is what you have to get.

[1.805 lb] A simple but well built silicone ring with weight slots to counter balance lighter lenses. GENIUS. I got it working pretty quickly and it literally changes the entire way I use my gimbal. I don’t have to put as much planning into the weddings and events I shoot because my camera can live on my Ronin S and I can quickly use all my lenses. Now I can even shoot interviews or speeches with my 85mm lens on the gimbal. Before I would have had to take my camera all the way off the gimbal and then do the interview on a tripod but now I just put the whole gimbal on my monopod and shoot the interview with my 85mm then back to my 24mm for more b-roll. Amazing idea.
