[Linear CCD] Affordable scanners are hard to find these days. Canoscan Lide 400 is one of a very few options from major brands. I previously used an older Canoscan model and liked it a lot, but it’s no longer supported by the new MacOS. I wanted another Canon. The Lide 400 has performed flawlessly for me. It has all the functions that I need: scanning to multiple file formats at multiple resolutions. On the Mac you don’t even need to download the Canon driver or utility software. MacOS recognizes this scanner when you add a scanner. Then you can use the native MacOS Image Capture utility to do basic scanning. The scanner has a USB C port. The included cable is USB C to USB A. It works just fine. But I use my own USB C to C cable and the file transfer to my Mac is faster. All in all, I am very happy with the purchase and the experience with B&H as usual. 5 |

[24 lb] Ink sits really well on top. I’ve tested many papers and I always come back to the Rag 210. I’ve been printing on a Canon 2100, and the profile install from the canson website was really easy. 5 |

[AC Adapter] I will say I am not a professional nor do I have extensive knowledge of digital imagery/scanning. My opinion is based on the end result of what I see on my screen which I realize is not 100% accurate as to quality, color, etc. I purchased this scanner to archive 1500+ old family slides and negatives ( I have yet to test negatives). I was using a canoscan 9000F, which produces good results (in my opinion) but the plustek 8200i is a little better as far resolution when viewing on my computer. I have not compared prints produced from scans from both scanners. I am using vuescan software as I already had it for the conoscan so I can't speak to the plustek software that comes in the box. In comparing some scans I have noticed that the canoscan does handle some darker slides better than the plustek in regards to noise in blues and blacks. There was enough difference that I would pick the canoscan image over the plustek despite the difference in resolution the canoscan pulled more detail out of the dark and produced no noise to speak of. It is possible that I may be able to try different settings in vuescan to clean up the noise which I haven't given a fair try. In the end for the money I think it's a good deal. With slides that are properly exposed the 8200i is great. Perhaps someone with more knowledge could get better images from the darker slides I'm struggling with. On a sidenote B&H live chat almost steered me away from this scanner telling me that the canoscan was the superior scanner when compared to the plustek 8200i. Like I said above so far I have found that to be false, the 8200i is the better scanner. As for scan time, both are comparably slow. There is nothing fast about scanning so if you don't want to dedicate the time you can pay to have them scanned. Both of the scanners I am using have an option to clean up the slides with an infra red scan, both do a great job at this, and in my opinion this is a great feature worth the extra cost. 5 |

[Empty] Great latches, the lide organizer and dividers are good quality. Minor detail, I feel like the Nanuks don't stack as well as Pelican. Also, if you're the type to put stickers on these, mine have all gotten obliterated very quickly. Something about how the center bulges out with lowered dips around the edges instead of raised bumps. Still, Nanuk has become my first choice, especially with the frequent deals of the day. 5 |

[Download] I purchased the scanner in early February, 2021. My wife and I use the LIDE 400 to scan photos and make copies of financial documents. Installation was quick and easy. Operation is straightforward. The software user-interface is intuitive, and -- for many applications -- it is possible to simply use the buttons on the front of the scanner. Given its low price, I was skeptical that the performance of the LIDE 400 would be satisfactory, but decided to take a chance. Glad I did. 5 |

[Woven elastic] This sturdy bag holds my A6300 with 16-50, 55-210, extra batteries, charger, filters, etc in an easy access way. Very nice! It looks big enough to hold a flash also - that will be my next purchase. 5 |

[0.295 lb] This lens by far was the easiest lens I've ever installed on a projector. My Panasonic projector is projecting a 210 inch diagonal image from 162 inches away with no special mirrors and without any distortion. That's amazing 5 |
