The size lends itself to be very controllable without the use of counter weights of other systems. Certainly the counter weight systems are useful in many if not all situations however if those systems are too cumbersome or restrictive then this is one to use. The Canon HF G10 uses a flash drive so it is not a heavy camera making it easy for this grip to handle. The single hand-grip is made of sturdy molded plastic and the attachment and pivot points are well made with a mix of chrome plated high tensile steel and high carbon steel where they count. This type of hand grip is very hard to come by as a lot of available hand grips are either part of a counter weight system or mounting system for lights, microphones, etc. In summary this is a well made, high quality single purpose accessory that deserves support from the motion and still photography community. It is easy to use and its cost is very reasonable in considering its quality. I am a firm believer in the saying that you pay for what you get. The only thing wrong about this item is that it is not always available for immediate purchase. A possible testament to its popularity? Perhaps.

[Lithium-Ion] This is the first generic battery I've bought for my Canon G10 and so far it works just like a regular Canon battery does. Very happy with my purchase and will buy from B&H again.

[1.2 oz (34 g)] Bought this for my Canon Vixia HF G10 video camera, which has a mini shoe at the very back. I need to mount an Azden dual channel wireless receiver and a SunPak LED light. The hot shoe extension is 8 in. long and rotates and slides fore and aft for easy adjustment. I use it with a Pearstone mini shoe adapter. To prevent the whole unit from being front-heavy when loaded, I attached a small wooden leg that rests upon the camera top and it affixed with a bit of velcro to keep it from sliding. Works great. (as an alternative, I might look at the Opteka X-Grip (B&H # OPXGRIPBK) along with this extension. Made of strong plastic, so it's very light, but solid.

[0.095 lb] I purchased this battery for my old Canon PowerShot S45. It wae cheap and it works just as well as a Canon brand battery.
