[82 mm (Front)] Every so often you come across a piece of gear that you feel privileged to use; the RF 85 f/1.2 is a great example of that. If you own one, you know exactly what I mean; if you don’t, there’s only one way to find out. Is it large? Sure but not ungainly so. Expensive? You bet. Worth it? Most definitely. Most lenses help you to recreate images of what you see through the viewfinder, this one creates art.

[Autofocus] I already have the EF 85 1.2 and for the longest time I thought the lens was superfluous. At a wedding however I was somewhat frustrated with the EF version. IN LOW LIGHT it had trouble finding the focus and seemed sluggish while the motor churned away. On Black Friday this year I took the plunge and got the RF. One shot and I was blown away. The speed, accuracy and sharpness was out of this world. Any doubts I had were swept away. One shot alone justified the price tag. I also picked up the 50 1.2 RF. Same story again. The EF can't compete with it. The 85 is the more magical of the two, but the 50 is probably more versatile. Both lenses are well worth every penny. The pictures speak for themselves. I felt like a precision sniper. Rarely did I miss a shot. The Bokeh was amazing. I got the regular 85 as I did t want to lose a stop of light for a more rounded out bokeh. Glad I did. Fast and beautiful.

[Plastic] This Lens is the PERFECT companion to Canon RF 85 f/2 macro lens . Size is JUST RIGHT .. Unobtrusive , yet gives excellent Protection to Lens from Bumping into objects .. and has the Perfect Length for use for macro Photography .. allows you to get up Close to Subject and does NOT cast Shadows on Subject you are shooting .. Canon Quality .. Well Worth the Investment ..

[TFL-II] I have an 85 1.2L, 50 1.2L, and now a 16-35 II 2.8L -- thisis probably the best wide lens I've used. I was debatingbetween the 35L and the 16-35 II 2.8L. I know I made theright choice. Expertise: Semi-Pro Previous Equivalent Item Owned: 10-22 Canon Items I Recommend: Canon 40D, 50 1.2L, and 85 1.2L

[9, Rounded] The sharpest lens Canon has to offer (better than the 85 1.2). The tilt and shift makes it - Simply awesome and now my favorite lens by far.

[2.015 lb] Let's make no mistake this lens is not the Canon RF 85mm f/1.2 but it is still a dam good lens. For me it feels awkward to hold in my hand due to it smoothest of the finish, but that is more on me than a fault of the lens. The quality of the images have exceeded my expectations and highly recommend this lens.

[Canon RF] These feel as heavy and sturdy as Canon ETs. I am confident using them with the RF 85mm f/1.2.

[Full-Frame] I'm thrilled with the Canon RF 85mm f/1.2 L USM DS Lens. It's an incredible tool for portrait photography, offering unmatched image quality and beautiful bokeh. Despite its cost and weight, it has significantly enhanced my ability to capture stunning, professional-quality portraits. You can see the results on my Instagram account @nycitypixels.

[0.145 lb] Review of the ET-77 Hood for the RF 85mm f/2 Macro Lens. Like all of the new RF Series Lens hoods, this one is exceptionally well designed and is well made. It incorporates a reversible 90 deg. bayonet mount with a very positive lock release button. This hood has an overall depth of 53 mm and an outside diameter of 97 mm so provides maximum shielding for a 85 mm FL lens having a full-frame 28.5 deg angle of view. It fits the Canon 85 perfectly either in normal operating position or reversed, mounts smoothly, and solidly locks in position unlike the older EF lens hoods. It is precision constructed of quality-finished plastic and weights 49 grams.. Like most original Canon accessories, it is a high-profit margin add-on. It's a simple piece of molded plastic costing almost exactly $1 per gram compared to the cost of the RF 85 f/2 which is a complex assembly of polished optical glass, advanced electronics, micro-miniature motors and many precision machined metal parts which costs $1.20 per gram. It does provide the intended function very well, but lens hoods are clearly a blatant profit center for Canon. Bottom Line: A near-perfect hood for the RF 85 f/2 that's outrageously over priced by Canon.
