Canon Zoom Lens For Bird Photography

[f/22] This lens is just what I needed for Bird, Wildlife Photography!

[Dedicated] The Canon 300mm f/4L IS lens is a favorite close range lens for bird photography, particularly if used with a cropped sensor camera such as the Canon 7D. It delivers sharp images when hand-held using image stabilization at 125th of a second or higher. Additionally, the lens is well adapted for landscape photography using my 5D Mark II.

[Snap-On] I use this lens on a Canon 70D for bird photography. The lens works very well in auto focus and provides very sharp photos. I also recently bought the 1.4x 1401 extender which gives me additional range. This extender works well in manual focus with the 150-600mm contemporary lens on the 70D. I don't think that the extender will work with this lens in auto focus with any of the Canon DSLR cameras.

[Full-Frame] Very satisfied with this, my first lens purchase for bird photography.

[f/2.4 to 4] I bought this camera primarily for bird photos. I already have a Canon SX65 which I have used for 10+ years and obtained lots of great shots. I found that the more powerful zoom, up to 65x on the Canon, led to taking lots of poor photos with noise, blur and poor focus when zoomed in. My best photos were all taken at 600mm or less. The Sony RX10 has a much larger sensor and when taking photos at 600mm I found with the image stabilization that my photos were incredibly sharp. I like the portability and the strong zoom of 25x which is all my handheld photography can manage. The camera is light enough to carry all day with a shoulder strap. I have included a few photos from my first two weeks of ownership. I love this camera!

[0.665 lb] Lens used for bird photography; swans, eagles, and herons in flight. The lens replaced 70-300 and the lens is faster (f2.8-3.5) much quicker to focus with sharper/clearer results. The included tripod collar is very usefull & helps balance camera /lens combination which helps with good results.

[8.75 x 5.6 x 2"] I got this lens to pair with my A7iii. I mainly shoot wildlife and bird photography. If you are into those types of things, this lens will be perfect for you!

[1.605 lb] I have used this lens for bird and waterfowl photography. I have been amazed with the quality of my images..tack sharp. You do have to be careful and watch for vibrations. Perhaps a little on the heavy side but that's something I can live with. A ltlle pricey too!

[0.4 lb] I bought this lens for bird photography. It's the second one I've had. Light enough to handhold and really good resolution.
