Car Accessory Power Socket

[1] Nice that it is convertable to wall socket and car charger. Has flip out plug which helps keep it compact. Not too big--so it fits well in a small camera bag and lightweight.

[0.19 lb] Bought as a replacement for a different-make plate that did not have an accessory socket. It's a big hefty plate, longer than the other plate, and the accessory socket, missing on many plates, was the key factor.

[Black] only had for 2 weeks, great for the car, now looking for accessory clips to do away with the velcro straps

[CRI 95] Small. light weight and sturdy construction. Wish it came in black with aluminum housing. Has thebattery tester to show how much power it has. It's nice and bright, with dimmer and temperature controls, plus 1-4" top socket. Comes with power cord for outlet powering of light. The case is nice, though not very protective, and comes with shoulder strap. Fits right on top my dslr with the supplied ball socket shoe mount. If only barn doors could be attached, then it would be perfect.

This flash has an external power socket (in the front) enabling the connection of another power source such as the Quantum Q battery.

[7.79 lb] Bought to power the CPC-925HD when away from electrical socket. Works like a charm/simple setup. Light an extra so don't need separate flashlight. Recommended.

[>.97] This is an excellent video light kit that works even better if you replace the included Compact Fluorescent bulbs with LED versions which are now available relatively cheap up to about 100 w equivalent. They are far cooler, take up less space, and use much less power. In addition you can mix daylight bulbs with warm ones. Sadly, it is not that good a substitute for strobe flash lights for still photography because, contrary to what your eyes tell you, you will need to crank the ISO way up to get proper exposure. It just reinforces the notion that those incredibly short strobe flashes deliver an incredible amount of light. Unlike a camera's sensor, our visual system does not consider an extremely bright flash to a long duration bright of lower intensity as having equal power. I've got 4 of these and I still need to up my ISO to 800 or above. The socket, softbox and lightstand are all well made and should work fine installed in a studio. Can't comment on how well it would work if used as a portable unit. Some people report problems getting the softbox part set up, but I haven't had any problems. After installing the first metal rod, I always install the next one on the opposite side. The last couple will require that you bend the rod in order to reach the socket. Overall the lighting kit is a terrific value.

[Yes] I only wanted a charging cable to keep in the car. I had to buy the entire Accessory Kit to get it. But at least B&H sold it. No one else does. If the clip breaks before the camera reaches the end of its life, I now have a spare, so all is good.
