Car Phone Holder Clamp On

[0.41 lb] I searched seemingly forever for a phone holder for my car. Nothing worked. Decided to check with Peak Design because of the quality and innovation of their products line. Bingo! This is high quality and worked great. You just need to follow their instructions and guiding information to a tee. The only thing I regret is that I did not order the charging car mount because of the price but now I wish I did! This product works well, and pleases me aesthetically. PD also has accompanying videos for most of their products. Recommend to watch those before and after you purchase as they are informational (and quite entertaining too!) and answer a lot of FAQ. Highly recommend!

[Black] The Impact MC-03 Magic Clamp not only is very useful for desks, but also very useful for bed frames! This is going to be my primary use, watching YouTube and movies hands free while I lay down facing up nice and comfortable with my pillow.  This reduces fatigue holding a phone in bed for hours and trying to watch my content sideways and still having to hold the phone. Not anymore! The gooseneck is made of metal, everything else is plastic. There are two types of people, the ones that break everything they touch, others who like to add a little finesse handling things. The ABS plastic is a hard plastic material, so the plastic clamp that attaches to surfaces, I find it sturdy, has a strong bite. The phone holder being made of plastic, even loading with a heavy iPhone ProMax, it holds the phone fine, there is NO NEED to over tighten the ball mount. That is the ONLY part that requires a little finesse. This in my hands will last a long time. Yes, it would be nice if the whole unit was made of metal. but it's going to cost more of course. Pros:  1-Very flexible (and metal) gooseneck, and even mounting in a bed frame which gravity will want to pull the gooseneck down, it stays! The phone holder can tilt a little, allowing minor adjustments to be exactly parallel to my face mounting it on my bedframe frame and at a perfect height. 2-Clamp has a nice bite. Cons: 1- Phone mount plastic parts may be a little fragile for some users. Just be gentle with the phone holder ball mount and you'll be fine. You do NOT need to over tighten. [Black] What makes this smart phone holder superior to past purchases is the dual locking system for both the orientation of the holder and the tension of the clamp. All others I've gotten in the past only have one locking system for just the orientation. Also not listed in the description is that the base is Arca-Swiss compatible. This is now my go to clamp.

[0.165 lb] Top machining quality and feel: beautiful smooth black finish anodized aluminum finish. Simple 2-piece design with nothing to break. I was looking for a holder that can handle a phone with and without a case. It has two 1/4-20 UNC female threads (standard, that’s what is at the bottom if you camera) at its back and its bottom. Its bottom design is also shaped to fit arca-type tripod heads, which is what I am looking to get next. Even without a tripod, the arca-type bottom makes it stable enough to place on a flat surface and hold the phone in landscape orientation for photos, video calls or to watch a movie. The bottom and top of the clamp sections that hold the phone have these grippy rubber pieces. This is a nice touch to grip securely but also to project the phone from scratches. The pieces are removable. There are also two vertical grippy rubber strips on the inside of the vertical section of the clamp. It holds my iPhone 7, iPhone X and iPhone 7 Plus securely. I don’t think it will hold anything bigger than the Plus such as the iPad Mini FYI but it fits a couple of power banks I had and I could see some people using it for that purpose with 1/4 to 1/4 male threaded screw adapter (double head) on a cheese plate or on a video rig. My absolute favorite thing about this holder is that its clamp tension isn’t too strong. I had another phone holder and I never used it because I was concerned it would damage my phone, it was so tight! The SPA-1000 is great for that. Highly recommended, I am not seeing any weaknesses or downsides to it. [I have received this product in exchange for my honest review]
