I had to purchase another DVD/CDW drive to work on my old iMac G-5 to replace the worn out drive built in the computer; I was lucky that B&H had that drive and it works fine.  I had no problems with the Apple USB SuperDrive on my new computer and will keep when I replace the newer computer (7 years old now) as the new iMacs do not have a built in drive.

[Windows ] Excellent top-of-the-line DVD/CD reader/burner. I own 2 of these drives, and they've both performed flawlessly for years. One is 10+ years old, and I've used well over 1000 CD and DVD discs with it. This LG drive is compatible with every piece of readable and writable media that I've tried (I recommend Verbatim AZO media). This drive works well with every program/app that I've tried on it, including various CD and DVD programs. It has worked with Windows 7, 8, 10, and 11 - as well as various versions of Linux. I have not used the M-DISC functionality, but I expect it would work fine. PERFECTION is the best word to describe this drive.

[1.81 lb] Bought this drive to replace a 10 year old Asus dvd-rw drive. I am in the process of backing up my CD collection, and the old drive wasn't happy after a few solid days of ripping. Once I installed this drive, I was ripping 5x faster! Approx. 5-15 minutes per CD, and with NO errors. It does slow down a little after about 5 consecutive rips, which puts it in the 10-15 min. Range. Have not tested bluray or dvd functions so I can't comment on those capabilities.

[0.965 lb] Newer desktops (like mine) don't come with a CD/DVD drive. This drive fills the bill so I can transfer photo CD files and music CD files to my computer or to my backup drive, even movie DVDs if I had the right software. It's slim build makes it easy to store betwwen uses and it seems well-built. I trust ASUS brand to deliver good product and this works great for me.
