Circular Polarizer Filter

[Glass] If you want a good CPL (circular polarizer) filter. Nikon CPL Filter II can be recommended. Evan the included filter box is good.

[0.54 lb] I was in need of a filter holder that would allow me to use my Lee filter system all the while being able to use a circular polarizer. Works fabulous! It is well constructed and machined.

[0.06 lb] I was concerned about the look and was not sure if it works well.When I saw it, it looks great works fine.It is easy to put it onto the lens thread and nicely fits into Lee SB 150 filter holder and looks great. I love it and don't have to hold my Galen Rowell ND filter in front of my 95mm lens any more and now I'm using Lee SB150 filter holder for my other lenses using step up rings.Another nice thing is that since I have 95mm circular polarizer attached to this 150-95mm ring, it's easy to put the Lee SB 150 filter holder to any sizes of lenses and I have one more slot available to stack second ND filter or other filter in my Lee SB filter holder. Now I still use 150*150mm square Lee circular polarizer into the first slot of Lee SB150 filter holder and the Galen Rowell ND filter onto the second slot for my 14-24mm Nikkor lens.However, I have a second slot available free now since I could attach my 95mm Singh Ray circular polarizer onto the 150-95mm step up ring and don't need a 150*150mm square circular polarizer attached to my SB150 Lee filter holder any more, I have two slots available for filters. And it is much better and convenient to use otherwise a very bulky and big SB 150 filter holder with square large size ND filter(I use 150*225mm square Galen Rowell ND filter and it sticks out and needs to be used carefully) But now I could use it for other lenses and don't have to hand hold ND filter anymore. It works very nicely for me.

[Glass] I had read reviews from others about using this filter along with a circular polarizer to make an inexpensive variable neutral density filter. So I gave it a try and it works great!

[Aluminum] Adding the circular polarizer to the filter holder makes it much easier to use a polarizer and ND Filters at the same time. This is a well built unit with a quality filter.

[Aluminum] I compared this to the B+W high transmission circular polarizer. I prefer the Nikon for several reasons including, stronger apparent effect, thinner, smoother rotation and much lighter weight. Stronger effect is why you buy a polarizer. Thinner glass should reduce spherical aberration from the filter. Smooth rotation makes it feel better. This is a large filter. The B_W was noticeably heavy. The Nikon was surprisingly light, in comparison. The storage cases are different, as well. The Nikon case was slightly smaller.

[Glass] If you're looking for a quality circular polarizer that will fit in your drop-in lens filter holder, give this filter serious consideration. I purchased this filter for my Century Precision Optics 6mm T/1.9 for the super-16 camera system, which has an internal filter holder with a tight tolerance. My go-to filter, the B+W thin POL, ended up being too wide for the holder. Calling in for an exchange, the friendly B&H staff recommended the the Heliopan which thankfully fits perfectly. This saved me from spending hundreds of dollars on a wide-angle friendly matt box and filter system to accommodate one lens.
