Computer And Monitor Tray

[TWAIN, ISIS] The Epson DS-530II scanner works great and is perfect for scanning all my paperwork and organizing it on my computer. It small, compact and portable. It's lightweight and fits nicely on my desk. The top folds out becoming the input tray and the return tray pulls out at the bottom. It was a breeze to set up. The software was easy to download and I had it up and running within 10 minutes. I was able to scan all of my paperwork quickly and accurately. It accurately counts the documents its scanning and leave out duplicates. The duplex feature works well and it automatically scans both sides of the documents. It scans in color as well, which is a nice feature. It's also adjustable for paper size, so you can scan small items, like IDs. It rarely jams but when it does, clearing the jam is very simple to do. [75.5 lb] I got this workstation to be able to have both my computer keyboard and my synth in front of me when producing, and it does a fantastic job at that. I don't even use the keyboard tray for the keyboard as I find it a bit too low for me so I just use it as extra storage, but the fact there's an upper platform for the screen and such gives me SO MUCH ROOM that I can put both the synth and the computer keyboard in front of me on the main surface. The upper platform is pretty big as well, I can easily fit my 23 screen as well as 2 studio monitors. I was worried it would be a bit cramped there but it's not! And it's pretty deep as well so I still have plenty of room on the top platform to put random stuff there if I need to. I like that there is two possible positions for the upper platform (closer or further back). I put it closer to me because I'm in a pretty small space, but if you have the room, you can put it further back so it opens up a bit more the main surface. It was pretty straightforward to build, only the keyboard tray required me to think a bit but the rest was dead simple. I really like the color, I find that it looks even better in real life than on the photo. Lastly, it shipped and arrived super fast even though it ships from the US (for free!) and I'm in Canada, so that was a great surprise!

[0.865 lb] I couldn't find the original drive I used to have, so I figured it was time to upgrade and get a new one. I really like how this one has a clamshell design. You don't need to find space for the tray to slide out as you do with the tray loading models. The button on the top of the drive is electrically actuated, so it won't accidentally open the drive while your computer is reading or writing from the disc. The other thing it can do is when you eject it from your computer, it will automatically pop the lid up. Unlike the tray drives that require you to find a paper clip to do an emergency eject, this has a small lever under the drive so you can eject discs that are having problems or refuse to eject correctly. Unlike many of the other drives I've used, this one is made from sheet metal and does feel nice in the hand. I have nothing against quality plastics, but this does feel nice, and the metal does not add any significant weight to it.

[3.6 W (Active)] When I recently purchased a new mini computer to replace my 8 year old desk top tower PC I knew I would have to also purchase an external cd/dvd drive because I am constantly ripping my ever growing cd collection into my computer so I can put the music on a portable 2TB hard drive for my car, which no longer has a cd player. I had purchased a couple of the usual external disc drives that do not fully eject the tray and you have to pull it out by hand and push it back in, which is a totally pain especially since they are so light weight and you also have to hold the unit down with your other hand while you push the tray back in so it won't move around... totally inconvenient for the amount of discs I knew I would be putting in and ejecting out of the drive. Luckily, I found this awesome unit on B&H and have been thrilled with it from the second I plugged it in. It stays exactly where I want it on my desk, smoothly ejects and pulls back in the tray, and has WAY faster read speeds than the cheap flimsy drives I used before purchasing this great device. I knew I wasn't going to need a blu ray drive so I saved a few dollars from buying this unit which is just for, since it won't read blu ray discs. Within a couple of weeks of receiving this I have already been able to rip a few hundred cds from my collection in the short amount of time I get to do this task, and the portable drive for my car is getting filled up fast with the music I enjoy listening to. HIGHLY RECOMMEND and worth every penny.
