[1.905 lb] A hub like this, with an external power supply, is the solution to iffy external drive connections. Without the external power supply, other types of USB hubs do not provide enough power to keep external drives up and running--drives connected other, buss-powered hubs often turn off, and become unavailable in Windows. No such issue with this one. This is also impressively well made. The sleek metal enclosure, power switch and USB ports all inspire confidence that this will have a long life. I have the 7-port version of this, and it has worked flawlessly for almost 2 years of constant service. This hub installed on my Windows 10 PC instantly, and every drive I connect to it gets enough power to work well and stay connected and remain visible on my PC. 5 |
