Connect Pc To Synology Nas With Ethernet Cable

[Yes] This is my first switch. I purchased so that I could use ethernet for my computer, my Synology NAS, other peripherals instead of WiFi. I purchased this model so that I could eventually set up 10Gbe connection for my NAS. I wanted to set up static IP addresses. Although it took a call to NetGear to set up, I was happy that they had very responsive and great support for this first time user. The unit is solid/metal and a nice compact size. So far, unit is working quietly and has worked as I hoped.

[T568B] What more can one say? It's a cable. It connects my NAS to my Switch using 1GB ethernet ports.

[19.5 Minutes] Use this to power our Synology NAS system. Was very easy to connect to the system via supplied USB cable and fast to set up via Synology's OS. Very quite and so far working perfectly after a few weeks. Plan to purchase a few more desktop version for all our PC too.

[48 kHz / 24-Bit] Had a 4 bay Synology that was almost full. This was an easy way to expand with 5 more bays. The supplied eSATA cable was long enough to reach the shelf below - the only wire you need between the two units (separate power cord to the expansion unit). Created a second storage volume with 5 new 12TB drives that added about 43TB. You want to make sure you do a second volume for the expansion, not extend your current volume. That way the 5 new disks are are not part of the original 4 disk RAID. Was very fast copying files over the eSATA cable from the old to the new volume. Pricewise, this is cheaper than buying a new NAS and also saves you configuration time as far as setting up the system, users, etc. This could also be a good way to backup a NAS. Copy everything to the expansion volume and then power down, unhook the eSATA cable, and take offsite.

[Lead-Acid] Worked as expected: I turned it on, connected the USB cable to Synology NAS, which instantly recognized it. After charging the battery, I unplugged it from the power outlet and all my devices (network gear + Synology NAS) continued to work. Synology software correctly detected "safe mode" and shut itself down after 10 minutes. The network router and modem can go on for way over an hour, so a power outage won't leave me without Internet for quite some time.

[Aluminum] This is the only adapter that could maximise my USB port on my NAS (DS918 ) and connect to my pc. Bought 2 as my pc doesn't have spare pcie slots. USB C was the only way to go. Good stuff!
