[0.045 lb] My mom uses computer speakers connected to the headphone jack on her Mac Mini. The jack failed (evidently this isn't uncommon). As an inexpensive workaround, I picked up this USB audio adapter, and it worked like a charm. Even plugged into a USB hub, it stays recognized and selected in the Sound System Preferences pane even after rebooting and waking from sleep. 5 |

[White] I am using a these (along with Dante Via) to convert a relatively inexpensive set of active speakers into Dante enabled speakers. Only con so far is that the AVIO adapter is larger than I expected, but definitely not a deal breaker. Pros include near infinite (not really, some limit) speaker runs using Ethernet cable (also must have POE); no ground loop him (digital signal); and the AVIO device can serve as a Dante clock device. 5 |
