Crate Gx 30M Combo Guitar Amplifier

[Active 2-Way] I bought a pair of these to use with a guitar amp simulator. They sound great and allow for getting the amplifier and effects tone without having to crank up the volume to concert levels.

[Download] In 1969 I saw a solid-body electric guitar with a three-inch amplifier built into the face of the guitar. The tiny speaker was powered by a nine-volt battery inserted in the back of the instrument. Fantastic, I thought, why don't they make a suction-cup amp that sticks onto the face of the guitar? A zillion years later they did and it is fine.

[Handheld] Great mic for any kind of use. Vocals sound great as well as guitar and bass amplifier. I use this mic in my home studio and live performance.

[50 to 90 MHz] For small combo work with a hollow-body jazz guitar, this amp has a great clean tone and in small rooms plenty of power even at its 40 watt rating. It must be extremely efficient because I have yet to go beyond 1 on the volume.

[Cardioid] I mainly bought this for mic'ing guitar cabinets and combo amps. It does a great job! Very warm and punchy, and not at all harsh or thin like some condensers can be on guitar amps. I have used it on sax as well and was very happy. I have not used a lot of other ribbons, so I don't have a lot to compare it to, but for the money, I think this mic is worth every penny.

[52 lb] the EV Evovle's (I have the 30M) are perfect for smaller gigs. I can use two array's for up to 100, and if it's a really intimate affair a single array can cover a room with 30 to 50 people. Setup is easy, using a tablet as a mixer makes it even moreso. As many have reported, the mids when used in the default setting are weak but you can bolster it by adjusting the EQ in the mixer app.
