[0.35 oz / 10 g] The ES-2 is more deluxe but this one does what is needed and once set up, is just as easy to use as the fancier version. This ES-1 is especially the choice for someone experienced and who already has a few other useful devices on hand. For such a person ... like me ... this device NOT LIMITED to the specific lenses that Nikon built it for and is also not limited to only 1:1 use ... IOW it can crop and it can fit many other lenses from various formats of cameras. The 2 keys to making it verrrry versatile are: A. Step up, or down, rings if your lens is not 52mm filter size. B. A set of very basic obsolete manual extension tubes [not need to be for Nikon]. Most of these old sets use 52mm M-F tubes of 3 different lengths. The 52mm tubes come in handy for adapting the ES-1 to macro lenses of longer than 55 or 60mm FL. If none of that makes sense to you, you should get the ES-2 instead of the ES-1. 5 |
