[Aluminum] I bought this monopod so I could add a Manfrotto 323 quick release plate to it. This allows me to switch the camera from using a tripod to the monopod without having to remove any quick release plates. I also use a Black Rapid camera strap so using the Black Rapid T1 fastener I can remove the strap quickly and mount it on the tripod in seconds. Very happy with purchase so far. Have not used the monopod for any length of time but the impression is that the monopod should hold up to extended use. 5 |

[0.495 lb] I attached this to the end of my Black Rapid strap to allow quick release to a monopod or tripod. It is more solid that I anticipated. The lock is very secure and yet easy to release. 5 |

[25 lb (11.3 kg)] This is built with high standards and precision. I like the long handle, its really easy to grab and make micro adjustments. If you like to lay your tripod flat you may want to opt for the shorter or �no stem version. I put this on a RRS Versa Series Tripod, but should work perfect for a Gitzo or ProMedia Gear tripod. I use a Gimba head and a BH-55 ball head on it, the quick release handle is secure and high quality. This really simplifies the leveling process, no more fussing with leg adjustments. If you are only going to use one type of Tripod Head you probably won't need the quick release clamp. HIGHLY Recommend 5 |
