External Cd Disc Drive

Equipment: an external LG Blu-Ray/M-Disc burner (WH16NS40) on a Mac. After more than a hundred discs, I have yet to see a single bad one. I burn at the slowest possible speed supported by the hardware, since I prefer long-term reliability (a habit since my first CD burner 25 years ago—some of my first CD-ROMs are still readable today), and I set my software to verify the burn by default. Verdict: no error yet.

[Steel] I installed the Samsung 250GB Solid State Drive in my Lenovo desk-top computer. I moved Windows and all my application software to the solid state drive and all of my personal files to the internal disc drive. The disc drive is backed by an external disc drive. The resulting system is much faster. The installation went very smooth, although I had the entire system backed up on an external disk drive incase anything went wrong.

[ M.2 SSD ] Love this, no more editing on external disc drive, this SSD is just like having zillion of space on the computer. My Mac Studio has 4 To but sometimes I end-up having to edit multiple projet around the same period. I used to edit on a 8 To disc drive but it's just anoying when it pauses and you have to wait for it to wake up...

[50 TB] I have ruined a few external hard drives because of the disc inside was damaged from dropping or bumping them. I found this SSD external hard drive and ordered it for durability. I need to be able to dump my video and photo footage on the fly and carry with me everywhere I go. This external is extremely fast compared to any disc drive. It also has withheld a drop or two from me already. I say get it, and it is worth the extra money. I don't see any reason why this would ever be lower than a 4/5 star rating.

[3.6 W (Active)] When I recently purchased a new mini computer to replace my 8 year old desk top tower PC I knew I would have to also purchase an external cd/dvd drive because I am constantly ripping my ever growing cd collection into my computer so I can put the music on a portable 2TB hard drive for my car, which no longer has a cd player. I had purchased a couple of the usual external disc drives that do not fully eject the tray and you have to pull it out by hand and push it back in, which is a totally pain especially since they are so light weight and you also have to hold the unit down with your other hand while you push the tray back in so it won't move around... totally inconvenient for the amount of discs I knew I would be putting in and ejecting out of the drive. Luckily, I found this awesome unit on B&H and have been thrilled with it from the second I plugged it in. It stays exactly where I want it on my desk, smoothly ejects and pulls back in the tray, and has WAY faster read speeds than the cheap flimsy drives I used before purchasing this great device. I knew I wasn't going to need a blu ray drive so I saved a few dollars from buying this unit which is just for, since it won't read blu ray discs. Within a couple of weeks of receiving this I have already been able to rip a few hundred cds from my collection in the short amount of time I get to do this task, and the portable drive for my car is getting filled up fast with the music I enjoy listening to. HIGHLY RECOMMEND and worth every penny.

[50 Stations] We are using this with our CD player which doesn't have enough power to drive external speakers. It works great and has built in provision for USB drive with music.

[Fabric] I need CD blanks to first backup my computer, in case of external/internal hard drive failure. And to copy/burn and to store relevant data. So I choose Verbatim because they are highly reliable and I have had success with them before.

[1000 G / 0.5 ms] My OWC Mercury Pro CD/DVD/Blu-ray external drive arrived on schedule and in excellent condition. The setup and install was quick and easy. The drive performs perfectly. I recommend this product for any serious users. As always, B&H came through with flying colors.
