External Cd Drive For Desktop Computer

[3.6 W (Active)] When I recently purchased a new mini computer to replace my 8 year old desk top tower PC I knew I would have to also purchase an external cd/dvd drive because I am constantly ripping my ever growing cd collection into my computer so I can put the music on a portable 2TB hard drive for my car, which no longer has a cd player. I had purchased a couple of the usual external disc drives that do not fully eject the tray and you have to pull it out by hand and push it back in, which is a totally pain especially since they are so light weight and you also have to hold the unit down with your other hand while you push the tray back in so it won't move around... totally inconvenient for the amount of discs I knew I would be putting in and ejecting out of the drive. Luckily, I found this awesome unit on B&H and have been thrilled with it from the second I plugged it in. It stays exactly where I want it on my desk, smoothly ejects and pulls back in the tray, and has WAY faster read speeds than the cheap flimsy drives I used before purchasing this great device. I knew I wasn't going to need a blu ray drive so I saved a few dollars from buying this unit which is just for, since it won't read blu ray discs. Within a couple of weeks of receiving this I have already been able to rip a few hundred cds from my collection in the short amount of time I get to do this task, and the portable drive for my car is getting filled up fast with the music I enjoy listening to. HIGHLY RECOMMEND and worth every penny.

[Fabric] I need CD blanks to first backup my computer, in case of external/internal hard drive failure. And to copy/burn and to store relevant data. So I choose Verbatim because they are highly reliable and I have had success with them before.

[9.05 x 8 x 3.6"] I have several WD Elements Desktop External Hard Drive and all have served us well for backup.

[60 W] With this cord my older external hard drive now works on my iMac desktop 27".

[1x 3.5" ] Installed an 8TB hard drive in for use as an external drive on a desktop workstation.Works great.

[50 Stations] We are using this with our CD player which doesn't have enough power to drive external speakers. It works great and has built in provision for USB drive with music.

[1000 G / 0.5 ms] My OWC Mercury Pro CD/DVD/Blu-ray external drive arrived on schedule and in excellent condition. The setup and install was quick and easy. The drive performs perfectly. I recommend this product for any serious users. As always, B&H came through with flying colors.

[0.75 lb] So many laptops no longer come equipped with a CD-ROM tray, which is so disappointing. This external drive was exactly what I needed for those instances where I need to play or burn a CD or DVD. The price was perfect for me and I am more than satisfied with this unit!

[Yes] A must have since most newer computers have no CD drive built in so you must use an external drive. This model works flawlessly ! Well worth the $$ !!

[0.055 lb] I use this to keep my external hard drive connected to my laptop. I used to just let it hangout next to my computer. This is sooooo much better.
