[macOS] After running Lightroom and Photoshop on a MacBook Pro for about 5 years, I finally broke down and bought the Mac Pro. I did not realize how much time I had been wasting, twiddling my thumbs while the old MacBook churned away processing images. The Mac Pro is very fast and quiet and has a nice assortment of ports. After purchasing a Thunderbolt to Firewire adapter, I was able to quickly mount two daisy chained external Firewire drives along with a USB3 drive and a new Thunderbolt backup drive. It is also nice to have the 1TB internal flash drive for software and temporary storage. It took me a while to figure out that I needed a new, Thunderbolt to Display Port cable to connect the Mac Pro to my 27 inch NEC monitor. Once I got the NEC cable and a keyboard, I was quickly up and running with a monitor resolution of 2560 x 1440 (no adaptor required). Although the Mac Pro does not have an optical drive, I learned that it can share the drive on my MacBook Pro using WiFi or an ethernet cable. I was able to use this approach to install some software that I have on CDs. Overall, I am very happy with the Mac Pro. It may be the last computer that I ever buy.

[0.39 lb] The Pearstone USB C to DisplayPort 4k Cable (15') is a super long well made cable. I primarily use this cable to run a preview monitor from my MacBook pro to a client or other crew member. It keeps extra people out of the main area where I am working and it does a great job of this since it's so long. There isn't a ton to say about a cable but this is built well, supports 4k, and is super long so I'm happy. (I received this item in exchange for my honest review)

[10 to 80% ()] It's always better to have single cable, than to use an adapter and a cable. This one does the job of connecting a DisplayPort to HDMI device.

[0.1 lb] It is what it is. It's a Thunderbolt Cable, which is a hardware interface that combines PCI Express and DisplayPort into one signal.

[1.6 lb] I have this switch set up to allow me to switch between a Retina MacBook Pro and my tower gaming PC with Nvidia GTX 1070 graphics card, and it performs the job very well. Previously I had a similar setup using an IOGear DVI+USB KVM switch between MacBook Pro and my older tower PC, with just a DVI-to-DisplayPort adapter on the video cable to the Mac. For the new setup I bought a DisplayPort-to-mini-DisplayPort cable for the Mac (could have used an adapter but the cable was $10 and it's less... lumpy... this way.) I've only been using it for a week or so, but it's working great! Comes with all cables, which seem to be solid quality, and fully bus-powered - small and light but seems well made. The older IOGear DVI+USB2 switch wasn't as expensive as this when it was new, but I guess that's the price I pay for going 4K. I did my usual research on all available DisplayPort + USB switch options before selecting this one, and I'm pretty sure I made the right choice here. If you're trying to drive a 2K or 4K monitor from two DisplayPort-equipped machines and share a mouse and keyboard between them, this is the ticket.

[0.9 lb] I needed to a cable to connect my laptop to TVs. Works Perfectly. Even has sound. Used Displayport to HDMI. I haven't tried HDMI to Displayport.

[0.275 lb] The Pearstone DisplayPort 2.1. DP40 is a great cable for my 4k monitor. It looks like a normal cable but it has some serious stats to it. It can handle up to 8k at 30hz or 4k at 144hz as well as carrying HDR10+ and Dolby vision. If you are a gamer this cable is a great high performance cable. The build quality seems solid too. Gold-plated connectors are always a nice touch, and the PVC jacket feels durable. At 6.6 feet long, it's got enough reach for most setups without being overkill. All in all, if you need a reliable, high-performance DisplayPort cable, this Pearstone one is definitely worth checking out. [I received this item in exchange for my honest review]

[0.39 lb] My new computer has one HDMI and one DisplayPort output and I have two monitors I want to use. This DisplayPort cable lets me use the second monitor now. The 3' length is more than enough without having extra coiled up. My screen is 2056x1080. Since this cable is 4K rated, it works great for my extra wide but not 4K large screen.
