[17 W (3.4 A)] I bought 2 of these for my car and a friends car. She is always forgetting to charge her cell phone and with the gps plugged in forget it. So now she can charge her cell and use the gps at the same time.

[16 GB] I have been using Garmin vehicle GPS for decades. I find using a GPS navigator is superior to using a cell phone. Navigation always works regardless of cell service. Every couple of years the manufacturer updates them, and I generally upgrade every few years. This RV795 was purchased to replace a Drivesmart 51 that is probably 8 years old. I like the bigger screen, and the processor is much faster. Reroutes are quick and searches require fewer steps. You can just say something and the RV795 will search for it without navigating menus. It seems to recognize speech better too. The game changer is the overhead photos of your location making it easier to find a way in or out of a parking lot/campground. The caveat here is that you need the RV795 to be connected to a cell phone for traffic, 4 square, and overhead photos which are downloaded. The Garmin Drive app works well and I use it on a daily basis. The GPS and nav still work, just not all of the extras. After updating the firmware, op software, and maps, it took a while to figure out how to make traffic etc. work. Once connected to the phone using the Drive app, it works well. Like most devices these days expect some work to get everything working. The results are worth it.

[1.545 lb] Coming from a Nuvi 2460 this GPS does so much more. It's like night and day. There are a couple of things that confuse me and at this point being I just bought it and used it for one out of state trip so far i'm not sure if it's a user issue or the way this unit is supposed to operate. I noticed a couple of the routes it directed me to go were out of the way compared to my cell phone app that I would normally use and the concerned me. The other thing I have yet to figure out is listening to music and getting the directions through my cars audio system. Usually I can have Spotify going and my cell phone GPS app will interrupt the music with directions when necessary and then the music will continue. So far I haven't had that happen. I thought it operates both like my cell phone app does. I thought I can pair the Garmin with my vehicle and not have to depend on a cell phone to do it. In any event I hope it's something that I haven't figured out yet because if it's the way it is supposed to operate it will lessen my likability somewhat.

[Preamplifier] The Polsen XP-2 2-Channel Microphone Signal Booster is not something I realized I needed until I started using it. I am using it to boost the signal on my desk microphone and it's connected through my Senal USB adapter which provides the phantom power. It can add up to 25db of clean gain which is impressive. I didn't realize the difference this would make until I actually hooked it up and started using it daily. I no longer have to be right up on my microphone to get a reasonable signal output. The other application I tried this out with was some interviews I recently shot where the interview subject was soft-spoken. Being able to get that extra gain really came in handy. I like that the xlr has locking connectors and that this is plug-and-play. It's made of all metal and feels rugged so it should hold up to some punishment over time. It works great, now the only issue is I have to buy another to match my other setup. [I have received this product in exchange for my honest review]

[0.32 lb] This Cell Phone Mount was bought for my Wife. She watches videos on her cell phone often and I thought this was a better idea than leaning her phone against a bottle of ketchup or loaf of bread. Combining this with a tiny foldable tripod gives her a compact stand for her cell phone and she now uses it almost daily. She seems to like it and it folds up to take very little space. The mount had a slight hangup when I first tried it out but seems to work fine now. The threads in the plastic parts are actually brass inserts that are moulded in place so they will probably hold up a lot longer than plain plastic would. The plastic is well moulded and seems to be pretty good quality. In theory, the mount will stand up without a tripod, but it isn't stable.
