[7 mm] I had the 8 bay TB2 and it worked super. Needed to upgrade and went for the 12 bay. It too works super. Hardware Raid is amazing. Nothing seems to slow it down. It maintains top level transfer speeds no matter what I am doing. It NEVER dips...consistent to drawer performance.

[Low Profile] This card has it's own bios that boots when you boot the computer. I have 2 sets of HDD's configured as RAID 1 (mirrored). Great for secure storage. If the computer fails, it should not affect the data. If you blow a HDD, you can replace it and the array will rebuild itself. You can take the entire assembly and move it to another computer without data loss. It integrates itself for drive configuration as if it were plugged into the SATA bus. One caution....Make sure you purchase RocketRAID and not just a RAID card. The RAID card doesn't have the spin down function.

[0.345 lb] I had to do very little to get this working. Installed in a Linux server, booted into the card BIOS, configured the RAID and done. It presented the drive to the OS as configured, and throughput was better than I expected (first time using a StarTech controller, so I WAS apprehensive) given the list price. The small size makes for it not getting in the way inside the case or obstructing airflow. I received this product in exchange for an unbiased review.

[0.66 lb] Moving from my on board RAID controller to a dedicated card was a game changer. Using my motherboard in RAID 0 had no problem with Sequential reads/writes, but the random reads were painfully slow. I moved to a PCI riser card (Gigabytes Aorus) so I could have more drives and a possible bonus of the bifurcated PCI lanes would be a bit quicker. Same performance. I finally bit the bullet and picked up this card. It has been FLAWLESS. The random read performance is within spitting distance of a single drive. Absolutely thrilled with this setup. fwiw: Asus x399-e Gaming Threadripper 1950x 970 Evo Plus 1TB drives Now I just need to get PCI4 capable stuff together so I can really put it through its paces

[2 W] I love this card reader. I’m a DIT working out of Vancouver, BC and working with the Alexa mini in ARRIRAW on a tv show can generate a lot of data. This card reader combined with fast RAID storage and a TB3 equipped MacBook Pro Makes ingesting two Cfast cards fast and easy I get 440MB/sec per card simultaneously going to Both my 8 bay RAID and my SSD shuttle Drive. Very happy!

If you're running a Z4 G4 with a high end video card - or an external RAID card, this fan will definitely lower the case temp by a bit. I have a pair of NvMe drives in my Z4, attached to the motherboard slots. This made the fan installation a bit dicey - it looked like it wouldn't fit. But that turned out to be untrue. If you lay the fan flat on the side that will face the interior of the computer, you can easily just raise it up into position. If you watch the HP video on (allegedly) how to do this, IMHO you will not succeed.

[750 W with IEC] I wanted a screaming fast desktop with the ability to expand and upgrade. In addition to the original 1tb nvme drive, I've since added a second nvme, two SATA ssd's, and a usb a/c hub with extra ports. Amazing! On Windows 11 I'm getting over 1gb on wifi, and I haven't even tweaked any hardware/overclocking settings. Now that other nvme was for Linux Mint, so now it's a dual boot beast! I'll need to deploy some geek magic to get the internal wifi 7 card working, and because the NVIDIA card is so new the driver manager won't let me install the most recent NVIDIA driver on Linux but both issues should resolve themselves over the next few months as the operating system catches up to the latest hardware innovations. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
