[0.045 lb] If you have mic'd headphones, then this TRRS is useful for monitoring and recording on a lightning input iPhone. 5 |

[0.04 lb] Headphones can make you sweat. No one wants to to follow up during recording sessions with the sweaty head guy... Different user switch covers. No problem. Keeps headphones clean. 5 |

[Semi-Open-Back] As a composer, recording artist and 20-year veteran of big recording studios, I had been looking for a reliable headphone to use during the mixing and mastering process in my new home studio (I have great reference speakers, but I like to mix at night, and this helps keep peace in the neighborhood). Yeah, I know and I've read in every magazine and online source that you can't mix with headphones. WRONG. The K 701s provide superbly reliable reproduction of instrumental music during tracking and mixing (bleed during tracking can, of course, be an issue with the 701s...if your mic is close to your headphones during recording, you need a closed-back headphone...I use my Sennheiser HD 280 Pro headphones for those kind of tracking applications). But mixing and mastering is where the 701s are worth more than twice the price. Finally...reliably true sound (no phony extra bass, etc.), no ear fatigue (even after a 6-hour mixing session), and the price, especially from B&H, is on the money. I buy all kinds of recording gear from MIDI controllers to outboard effects processors, etc. Nothing I've ever purchased has made me feel as good about spending my hard-earned money. If you are a WORKING (home) studio musician and you want your next CD to sound professional...mix it using these, and it will. PS: I'm a struggling musician and recording pro, NOT an audiophile. I like things that work, that last and that sound good. That's why I like my 701s. 5 |

[0.025 lb] These are the best headphones I’ve come across for live monitoring. I just used them at a loud event and was able to clearly hear the audio I was recording. 5 |

[Memory Foam] I wouldn't pay full retail for these headphones, but at the current sale price, it's a great set of headphones if an open back design will work for you. Keep this in mind - professional studio recording headphones have to be a closed back design, for multiple obvious reasons. It's more difficult to get neutral balanced sound from the drivers with closed backs. So thus you get the whole headphone scene for audio production tasks. You can't use these Philips headphones for any of that, but for normal consumer enjoyment of music, if nobody is bothered by the sound coming out the back of the phones, these sound absolutely fantastic. Beautiful open, clear, three dimensional soundstage that presents any recording at its best. 5 |

[4W] When recording location sound, I often ask myself is that noise I'm hearing in the mix, or just leaking past my headphones? With the high level of noise reduction on these, it is much easier to feel confident about what is, and is not, part of the recording. 5 |

[Permanent] I work in audio post-production at a facility in NYC, and I just recently purchased a pair of AKG open headphones for doing pre-mix work outside of my studio. Of course with them being 60-something ohms of resistance, I knew I was going to need an amp to keep them happy, and to keep me happy. Almost all of our recording equipment for field recording is from sound devices; I love this company. The build, quality, and durability of their equipment is always at the top of the line. Same thing goes for this headphone amp. I never plan to use this thing outdoors, but I actually only power it with batteries because the power supply is an additional purchase. (However they do come with the DC terminal into their box if you want to do a little work yourself and wire up a DC converter) Very linear response, virtually no noise floor unless I jack the level up above 80% (which I never need to do anyway), and the best part is it really lets my headphones shine. If you require headphones and plan to do serious mix work PLEASE do not expect to get good results coming straight out of the laptop's 1/8 output; not only will it not be loud enough in most cases, but there is just not enough power to allow a high resistance pair of headphones to be at their best. 5 |

[9.8' / 3 m] Great monitor headphones and solidly built swappable wires. Only have used the mic once, recording synth through guitar amp into Ableton via usb-c hub, some popping interference at first but the sound otherwise was great. 5 |

[2.325 lb] We have been using several pairs of Sennheiser HD650 headphonesas our very best monitoring reference in remote recording sessionswith the famous, restored Wanamaker pipe organ in the Grand Court of the the downtown .../Wanamaker store in Philadelphia. The headphones are driven by nothing less than Grace Design 902 headphone amps. These headphones absolutely rival the sound quality from the very best, customized, fixed-place studio monitor speaker systems at a mere fraction of the cost. They render a brilliant, clean sound that reaches way down to the 16 Hz fundamentals (at zero recording level!) that this huge organ so easily belts out at full tilt. Mids and highs with the HD650's are as smooth as silk too.The current project is Christmas music featuring the Wanamaker organ accompanied by the Philadelphia Brass. Brass pickup was by anotherfantastic Sennheiser product, a matched pair of the new Sennheiser MKH-8040 cardioid microphones. You may hear the results this Fall when the Wanamaker Christmas CDcomes out on the Gothic Label. The disc may be available in Macy's stores nationally. Tune in, because every single note on this upcoming album was meticulously monitored by HD650 headphones!Alex Martin, Assistant Recording Engineerdsp Recording/ Chicago 5 |

[Analog] Shopped around a lot to find inexpensive noise cancelling headphones for the recording studio in our youth center. The youth are rough on them and we generally go through them fast. Youth don't seem to know the difference between these and the more expensive ones we bought previously. Plus these have proven to be quite durable. Great bang for the buck. Didn't have to compromise. 5 |
