[8 Hours] Got this due to my Focusrite not having enough gain for my SM7B. With everything in place I can get the gain comfortably within the working range of the Focusrite without much distortion or noise. 5 |

[End Address] Have only used it on a high gain guitar cab so far, but my first impression is that it does a great job capturing the amp tone, but sounds smoother than a 57 without sounding dull. I have it paired with a Royer 101 and after about 2 minutes of mic placement, it sounds killer. Overall, just seems to do what a 57 does, but with less harshness. Sometimes you may want that harshness though so, of course, you should have both. :) 5 |

[1.4 lb] I bought this amplifier to to provide additional gain for a pair of Sennheiser HD 424 vintage headphones. These phones are high impedence (1750 ohms) and cannot be driven well by my computer sound card or my Android phone. This box did the trick. I use the other outputs for connecting additional phones. Very convenient for comparisons etc. Also, having an external physical volume control is useful. Uses 12 volt power - so its easy to power from the included power supply as well as batteries, car etc. Watch out, the polarity of the barrel connector is reversed from many other devices. The box is polarity protected, but don't take chances. The circuit design uses opamps and is quite straight forward. The sliders have a stop in the middle. Unity gain perhaps. Not necessary and makes adjusting volume annoying. I end up adjusting the input level so that the slider is above the mid-point. This is a very small negative. The box has a high(100K) input impedence. This is useful for connecting to line outputs. Can be used to provide headphone connections to devices with fixed level line outputs. In summary, a simple and effective device. 5 |

[Download] I tried a Dayton EMM-6 with Sonarworks SoundID and just could not get the levels I needed for the calibration, even with full gain on high-end studio preamps. I swapped in the Sonarworks mic and everything just worked. It's a little more money, but does seem to have the higher output that's needed. 5 |

[End Address] I needed mics for my dslr cameras, and had previously gotten microphones at about half the price that weren't cutting it. I was getting a lot of hissing due to the weak pre-amp on those cameras and I needed something more powerful. Immediately when I got the VP83 I was shocked by the high gain and high quality. At +0 db on the microphone and with the gain on the camera as low as possible I got a good volume. Also, the quality is the best on any microphone I've ever used, including one that I got specifically for recording voice. Everything is clear and most importantly I have no hissing on my videos. Maybe a bit expensive for an amateur, but totally worth it in the end. Will be using these to film my documentary. 5 |

[Black] Trying this over SM58. High gain, clean output. Good solid build feel. 5 |

[20 Hz to 20 kHz] There are a lot of mixed reviews on here, so I was a bit cautious of purchasing. I only have one, and have only had it a day, so I can't speak to reliability, but it seems solid and well built. I tested this running one channel, high level, from a mixer through this to the power amp, with the other channel running direct. With the levels set to 0 gain, there's no audible difference between the channel run through the EQ and that which was direct. There's also no additional noise between the two channels, which leads me to believe the 94dB S/N ratio is conservative. Band adjustments seems reasonable, and the high/low sensitivity is nice. I didn't check for power on pops, but there aren't any pops or clicks when going to bypass, although it is audible. The only negative I found is that the outputs seem to clip a bit before the lights go on. To do that requires a hot input source, and turning up the channel gain quite a bit. It seems to have a lot of headroom, so this isn't too much of an issue. This is a simple analog unit, and anyone doing serious EQ for live sound, recording, etc., is going to go digital, but if you LIKE simple analog EQs, this would be hard to beat. 5 |

[Mono] i use the sennheiser e935 for vocal communication and song demos . the clarity and high gain without feedback are amazing . this mic is better for vocals if you need to leave your monitors on in the same room . at the price i paid it cannot be beat . 5 |

[1.35 lb] This mic already reduces most of the background noise on its own, however, that means you'd need to crank up the gain pretty high if you don't talk loud enough, but, get a Cloud CL-1 and your problem is solved. I have virtually no complaints about this mic, it's just great. Worth every penny. 5 |
