[0.3 lb] I bought a replacement 970 black cartridge for my HP Officejet Pro X576dw Multipurpose Printer, and it has given excellent results -- clear, well-defined black print for images and printing, and long life as a cartridge (there is an even longer-life version of this cartridge with more ink). Primarily, the ink quality in HP cartridges is superior to others in my experience, and I've tried quite a few others. Each time I return to HP quality and reliability in products, and now I only specify genuine HP ink cartridges for my printers. The HP 576dw MFP has been an excellent, durable printer, and the HP replacement cartridges have always given top-notch results as well as long life and excellent value.

[Inkjet Printers] The HP DesignJet T230 shipped with "starter cartridges." That being said, I anticipate that this cartridge will give comparable performance. It is to HP's credit that the Black 712 has more capacity than the color cartridges since my practice prints principally black line prints with this printer. My former HP DesignJet 111 was conservative in its consumption of ink; thus far it appears the HP DesignJet T230 will follow suit.

[Print] I was NOT happy with HP's decision to discontinue the HP 11 and HP 82 cartridges, thereby rendering my HP DesignJet 111 as useless. That printer served me very well for 12 years, requiring only a replacement of print heads 4 yers ago. It was relatively fast for an entry level wide format printer. That being said, its replacement, the DesignJet T230, is now online. I have it hooked up to the USB connection. Communication is fast. Print quality, under "speed" is excellent and crisp. Print speed is acceptable and twice as fast as the 111 winter printing a D size sheet. Page setup with the Mac is also simple- I found it did a great job setting up an "Arch D" sheet. Only gripe is that HP did not have a recycling program for the DesignJet 111. Also I had to use a local source for that. Overall I like the T230 and would recommend it.
