Laptop Hard Drive Docking Station

[1] If you have a lot of loose hard drive but don't want to buy an enclosure for each drive, you need this docking station.

[1.69 W] PC or laptop will not boot due to faulty hardware? No problem - your data will not be lost. The 2.5/3.5" drive docking station connects to your PC / laptop and loads the hard drive as another drive so you access your coveted data! Connecting by usb or esata the transfer speeds do not disappoint. If there was a way to have the docking station powered over a usb cable without needing the power adapter that would be the only change I would make to this device. I received this product in exchange for an unbiased review.

[3.5"] I have had this case for a couple years now. As someone who runs a project studio and it's a media junkie, I was looking for storage abd backup options outside of my NAS unit. So I bought a dual slot HDD docking station that connects to my computer via USB and started buying high capacity internal drives. I wrote the drives in this case, and when I need data off any of the drives, I pull the case out, find the drive I need, and drop it into the docking station. Worship the wise, the case is identical to all the other hard shell cases I have for other studio gear. It's rugged and the foam inside is cut perfectly for the drives. The foam isalso made of anti static material, so you're drives are safe from static electricity shocks. Well worth the price. As my drive count grows, I'll be grabbing another one of these.

[Yes] I've gone through 3 other brands of SATA drive docking stations, and with most of them I've had trouble getting drives to mount, where the docking station will give up trying to mount the drive if it can't mount the first time. With the StarTech docking station I am pretty much guaranteed that the drive will mount, as the docking station will keep trying to mount the drive until it succeeds. I also like how the indicator light changes to blue when a drive is mounted, and to pink when the drive is unmounted.
