[0.965 lb] The CD/DVR player/burner in my husband's laptop suddenly quit. Not wanting to pay for either a replacement within the laptop or a new laptop, we opted for this very inexpensive and easy to use external DVD optical drive. I burn at the slowest possible speed supported by the hardware, since I prefer long-term reliability (a habit since my first CD burner 25 years ago—some of my first CD-ROMs are still readable today), and I set my software to verify the burn by default. [1.81 lb] I've used a regular CD/DVD Burner since February 2010. It's done everything I've asked it to, but this Blu-ray Burner is faster, quieter, and allows me to catalog important files without relying on finicky external hard drives. 5 |
