Laptop With Dvd Burner

[11 lb] I ordered the EZ Dupe to replace my old burner that quit working. Our Priest wanted me to make copies of his DVD's that he made for parishioners that did not have the internet. Our Priest had his Sunday mass videoed and live streamed it on You Tube. The DVD's were made so the parishioners that did not have access to Youtube.

[4.015 lb] The external DVD/Blu-Ray Burner was larger than I expected. But it has to be wide enough to fit a disc inside, so I think its fine. It works well, as expected. So far, I've only burned DVDs with it, but I expect it will do just fine with Blu-Ray. It comes with software for backing up data/pictures/videos, etc. I'm looking forward to using M-Disc to archive pictures and videos. It's supposed to last for hundreds of years if the physical disc is not severely damaged.

[USB-A Female] My new Lacie external DVD burner came with two USB cables in case it needed extra power. Mine did, but my Mac powerbook pro, 2.16 Ghz has only one port on each side and the Lacie cables are not long enough to reach. This product solved that issue. However, I still have a problem with the drive. Almost every other time I use it the computer defaults to the computers DVD burner, which has an optical problem. So I have to reset the Pram every time this happens in order for the computer to default to the Lacie. Shouldn't be this way.

[Yes] I researched this item and purchased it for the purpose of DVD and Blu-ray burning. The unit arrived on time and is working as expected. It can write double layer Blu-ray and DVD disks. I use it on an HP laptop with an internal DVD burner to reduce the time to re-produce  BR,DVD/DVD-DL, or CD disks. I would recommend this LG burner for its speed and functions, not so much for its price. Over all very satisfied.

[1.81 lb] I've used a regular CD/DVD Burner since February 2010. It's done everything I've asked it to, but this Blu-ray Burner is faster, quieter, and allows me to catalog important files without relying on finicky external hard drives.

[5 VDC] Great DVD burner for the price. It was easy to install and setup, actually Windows recognized it in device manager and updated the driver from their own database.

[Windows ] (This review was collected as part of a promotion.) This little DVD Burner is a very neat addition. I still use plenty of CDs and DVDs and it reads both quickly with very little noise. Haven't tried burning anything yet, but as an external disk reader, it sure does the job.
