[Omnidirectional] Except for the awful pop screen which is waaay too easy to lose,this is an exceptional microphone for the price.I highly recommend seeking out other pop screens for this double ended lavalier microphone - which u will need 2 of...Otherwise,I have no complaints.Sound quality compares to that of much higher priced Rode lavalier microphones,which also stop working properly a little after 6 months..I haven't had that much time to test the Sony mic,but it will get plenty of testing.I do outdoor wildlife recordings in all kinds of weather conditions and this mic works very well,though it does require other pop screens..

[70/30] This lavalier mic can go under clothing while recording and it will not create a brushing sound. No need to purchase covers for it. When recording from the cell phone, always use a lavalier like this to prevent room echo. The phone's sound system picks up echos that our ears do not hear.

[4x Knob] We bought this pipe audio from a lavalier to our iMac running Audacity, our use case for lecture recording. We had to return it because the monitor knob would only work if you pressed it in but hiccups like that are normal for hardware purchases. The new one has worked flawlessly for over a year and we have had zero complaints. One particular oddity is that the gain on the input channels tends to get exponentially higher the more we go. I noticed it to see if I could get more sound into Audacity (that program normal input range seems to be rather small, huh). This isn't a problem as much as it could be a noobish understanding of how to do a recording with Audacity. the particular feature I love is how you can plug either the normal TRS connectors or the balance mic connectors into the same input; that gives you much freedom on your setup.

[End Address] I am glad that I purchased the Sennheiser MZW102 windscreen for my MKE2 gold lavalier microphone. You will not hear and pops or scratching noises when you use this windscreen. I highly recommend it for older MKE2 gold lavalier microphones.
