[1.2 lb] I have this cobbled onto a Generay Mini-Moon with the optional egg crate. I found the Mini-Moon's build-in diffuser was not adequate for my lighting application. It is not the intended use of this softbox, of course, but it works superbly for this, the 8 distance from the light to the scrim really helps the LED panel a lot, and it is still plenty bright through this. This would add a much nicer light quality to a variety of small LED lights. It was a fine value here at B&H. Like most collapsable softbox/diffuser products I have encountered, am not sure how many collapse/deploy cycles they would realistically stand up to. It takes a lot of force on some very thin fabrics to fold it back up and then stretch it out again. Long term durability concerns aside, the little magnetic standoffs here are clever, it deploys super-fast, and it fits into a small bag. This is a great product if you want to improve the light quality on a LED panel, and it helped me tremendously with my small studio space where the light is closer to the subject than I would ideally want it. 5 |
