Leica 28Mm Lens

[24 mm] I needed a filter for my new Leica Summaron 28mm f5.6 lens. Found the correct size to fit it and the Heliopan, with Schott glass, is perhaps the best made filter in the world. I only bought the single coated one, as the new lens comes with new Leica coatings on it.

[Additional] This viewfinder is well made and an indispensible accessory for my GXR with either the Ricoh 28mm lens unit or the Leica Mount using the 15mm (effectively 22.5). The fact that this viewfinder has framelines corresponding to both uses is very convenient. With spectacles, it is a little hard to see the full 21mm field of view. Very satisfied with this product (I have two now, for multiple GXR bodies.

[f/16] This lens is beautiful looking and has exquisite build quality. It has a metal hood can slide on cap that are nice touches for a low cost lens. The aperture ring is fluid and clicks nicely into place. The lock at infinity isn’t that helpful for me but may be for others. Optically this lens isn’t perfect like the Leica glass. However, the photos have a ton of feel and style to them that I prefer this one to my Zeiss and the Leica 28mm that I rented. The price is exceptional for what you get with the lens, too. Super happy with it. The only downside I see is that it’s a bit large for a 28mm, but it’s not really an issue for me, but I mention it anyway for those who value compact primes for street.

[f/16] Quality lens at an affordable price. Would recommend. 28mm has become the new 35mm for many applications in the Leica M system.

[f/22] Hands down the best 28mm lens for Leica Barnack cameras and it beats out the old Hektor in performance by a long shot. It’s coated, aspherical, opens to 2.8, and includes a hood and cap. Thanks to Cosina for bringing Barnack camera back in the game with new screw mount lenses! And thanks to B&H for always offering competitive prices and top notch customer service!

[39 mm] I recently purchased a 7 Artisans 28mm lens for my Leica m8. A uv/ir filter is a must. Costs much less than the Leica filter and it works perfectly.

[28mm] Smaller and much less expensive than the Leica Elmarit-M 28mm f/2.8 ASPH lens. Good color and image quality, great for the street.

[1x Paper Roll] Perfect for the 28mm Leica Q-P lens, which shouldn't be a surprise. Good and solid metal construction, it not only avoids undesired lights and glare, but also protects the lenses very well from impact (I had to replace the one that came with my camera due to an accidental hit against a wall). Perfectly accurate screw mount. And gives the camera a very unique style and esthetic.

[f/16] This lens is a thing of beauty. It's really well-built, and the photos speak for themselves. It is one of the best 28mm lenses available for the M mount (now that includes Leica lenses). The fact that this is 1/5 of the cost of the Sumicron and it's faster than that is incredible. Get this lens, and you won't regret it.
