My daughter got the XL7S tower, and I took a look at it. It's not light coming in at 35lbs, but with the handle and wheels it is easy to move around. The battery is rated up to 20 hours of playtime which I would assume would be at lower volume. You can charge your phone with the speaker while streaming from it. As with LG XBoom's, they are easily paired with the app to tweak settings. The controls are also on the top of the speaker for adjusting the sound to your liking. I played some of my favorite genre of music, heavy metal, to check it out. As expected, the sound was solid. Decent volume, and was able to get the EQ in a U-Shape that I like the most. The highs weren't purely crisp, but nonetheless they sounded good combined with the bass output of the speaker. One thing that really didn't interest me, but it's cute for a party, are the emoji's that can be displayed on the speaker. It is a cool party touch. Overall the speaker puts out s nice light show for those who want it. I would recommend this speaker. Nice on the patio for a party or just for hanging out and wanting decent sound.
