Macro Lens Ef 100Mm

[Canon White] I grew up with the always fun EF 100mm Macro and when I dove into Canon's mirrorless R series bodies it became obvious very quickly that the new RF lenses were worthwhile improvements as well. While I initially used an EF-RF adapter and was completely satisfied using 'old' glass on the new bodies I have found that pairing RF lenses with RF bodies takes every aspect of the photography experience up, out, and beyond expectation. Upgrading from the EF (very old non-L version) to the RF 100mm L brought with it greater magnification, closer focal distance, amazingly fast and quiet auto focus, and a fun Spherical Aberration tweak control. I can't say how much of an upgrade this is from the EF-L version but I know I'm amazed from where I stepped up from (and I was really happy with the EF). The SA adjustment is great for portraits and I leave it locked neutral for Macro work. If you're looking for the most fun per dollar lens you can own buy this! *The examples attached were taken at the ends of the aperture settings to give you an idea of the visual flexibility (f2.8 to 32)

[Full Frame] I'm the proud owner of three Rokinon cinema lenses: the 10mm, 24mm, and now the 100mm macro. I've only had the 100mm for a week, but I've tested it out on high school seniors, my cats, and interviewees, and I've been impressed each time. While it is labeled specifically as a macro lens, the 100mm is amazing, too, for telephoto use. It is tack sharp (if you focus correctly, which is sometimes hard when using a super-shallow depth-of-field), with beautiful bokeh. I'm primarily a filmmaker, and I haven't used it in that sort of application yet, but I'm confident it will preform just as well as it does for still photography. My only gripe for video use specifically is that, when racking focus, the elements inside the lens push forward or backward, causing noticeable zoom effects. That con was not major enough to deduct a star, however, and I strongly suggest trying Rokinon lenses if you haven't beforeI think you'll be blown away by their quality and value.

[1.53" / 39 mm] I love it for balancing my Canon 100mm Is macro lens with and without extension tubes. Thru bnh I have a rotating tripod collar that works great with it. Waited for years for RTCollar... Should have purchased years ago.

[+1, +2, +4] I used a canon macro 100mm with a +4 Hoya filter lens on an canon 80D camera. Love the way photos came out, had fun photographing the flowers and insects. Close ups are my forte', even with other lenses. I love for my images to pop out of the photo itself.

[40.9°] I have been looking for a macro lens that I could use for other than macro photography and the Venus Optics Laowa 100mm f2.8 2X Ultra Macro APO lens fits that bill perfectly. Again B&H photo had the best lens I could have imagined at the right price. As a 100mm lens it is sharp and easy to use and as a macro it is unsurpassed. My use of this great lens has been limited as I was sidelined with serious heart surgery that i still am recovering but I did get to use it enough to know that I have exactly what I want thanks to Venus Optics and B&H photo.

[Screw Knob] I'm using this to mount a Canon 6D /100mm F2.8 macro lens combination on a copystand. Absolutely solid mounting using 2 of the 1/4-20 threaded holes. The centerline and scale marks are very useful for camera alignment, and the large knob makes mounting/unmounting quick and easy while not interfering with the camera. As always, Kirk quality is outstanding.

[12.3 x 6 x 3"] Using this with my Canon 90D and Canon 100mm macro lens. I shoot the slide in RAW and process in Lightroom - results are significantly better than what I got from my pricey Canon flatbed scanner, so much so that I will redo previous work. It was easy to assemble and put to immediate use. I'm really pleased with this purchase.

[34 mm to 43 mm] Lets me use my 77mm filters on my Canon 100mm f/2.8L macro lens, which has a much smaller (67mm) filter size. It's a lot cheaper to buy one of these step-up rings than another full set of filters. The Heliopan screw seems well-made and has not locked up filters when I attach or remove them.
