[Yes] Ball heads I have used before this are Manfrotto and Pro Media Gear. This may be the last ball head I ever buy, as it is that good. Recently received this for attachment to my new Leofoto LN-404 tripod and look forward to putting them both to use. Recommended.

[1x 1/4"-20 Male] I found that this Manfrotto plate fits my new ball head and other heads as well. Great idea

[Ball Head] I've been through so many cheap ball heads and always end up back with this one.....it's on my main tripod (Manfrotto) and this Joby never seems to weaken or wear out!

[0.005 lb] I abandoned ball heads because they are very quick but a pain for setting and maintaining fine adjustments. Today, I use a 3-way, geared Benro GD3WH (similar to the Manfrotto 410) and the non-geared, 3-way magnesium Manfrotto 3437. This edelchrone, which I have on a leveling head, works well on my video sliders where the tripod column is almost always blocked by the stabilizing arms. It allows for 6.7 of continuous height adjustments, it elevates the camera from the slider high enough that I can zoom along the slider without showing it in the frame, and, extended on the side, allows for shots parallel to the ground. It is very well made. All of this for a reasonable price. Love it.

[0.48 lb] Unlike many ball heads, when locked, it is... locked. Very well made too.

[Black] This works well as a storage case for small ball heads.
