Media Storage Drawers

[Zipper] Bought this before a big trip. I love having small wallets for media storage. Looks very well constructed.

[0.265 lb] I'm using the Sonnet echo with 2TB of NVME storage in RAID 0 as media cache for video editing with a Mac Studio Ultra. I was using SATA SSDs before but it's a waste not to max out the speed on a system capable of 5x SATA performance. Large Photoshop files, video playback, and renders feel noticeably quicker, though I don't have any benchmarks. Works flawlessly so far as most Sonnet products have for me in the past. Speeds are as advertised (5GB stress test) though I might eke out a bit more speed if I add heatsinks to the NVME sticks. Fast enough to deal with some flavors of 12k footage. Monitors plug in fine through the dock as well. I've only used it for a month but so far so good. Amusingly, the power brick is the same size as the unit and the blue LED basically doubles as a nightlight but that's easily solved with some tape.

[19.3 dBA] Video Media storage with a Mac Studio Ultra. Maximizing storage speeds with NVME in RAID 0, though heatsinks might improve it a bit further. Speed tests indicate it can handle up to some types of 12K footage. Cruising through multicam 4K footage in conjunction with NVME media cache. SoftRAID keeps asking for the activation code for some reason. OWC needs to fix that. Only 2 months in but working as advertised so far.

[USB Bus Power] This thing is amazing if you have to offload a bunch of media off different types of storage. After a day of shooting with dual SD cards and drone footage with a micro SD card also, it's great to have all the speed and inputs without having to look for all the different adapters and if you work on laptops(I use Mac and windows) just being able to keep everything installed and just move 1 cable is amazing.

[8 TB] I was looking for a quiet hard drive for media storage inside my Mac Pro. The drive is much quieter than comparable WD or Seagate drives. For a spinning HD, it is relatively fast as well.

[Tan/Beige] We are bringing online media coverage to a small town and needed something durable that would protect our investment well. We deal with a largely volunteer staff so it had to be well thought out and highly functional. We are very pleased with both the design and the durability of the Porta Brace Cargo Case. Most of our storage needs were met with plenty of room for our Canon xa10 with wireless mic system for interviews, headphones, cables and other necessities. The shoulder strap is quite comfortable for toting. We also like the individual packing touches including a mic bag that velcros to the top of the unit. The only negative I have, and this is a minor one for me, is that I would have preferred the storage dividers to be a bit deeper.

[Windows ] This is the longest lasting most durable storage media to ever exist. It'll take you weeks and weeks to backup all your files since these are just little 23.1gb discs, BUT it's important to do so since hard drives while fast to backup to have many points of failure. And another point, non M-DISC are a ticking time bomb. They will fail depending on luck and storage environment. I noticed this on a few of my cd-r and dvd+r media i've burned since the mid 90s to 2015~. While most still work, i have come across around 1-2% that either don't read at all, or only some of the files will read. Lifespan is random, 5-25 years in these types. This is why i've invested almost 1500 dollars in stock piling m-discs. Kinda crazy but i needed a more longterm almost full proof solution. B&H price is great, cheapest anywhere i've seen. You have to settle with the so called branded "25gb" version of these though, the higher density discs are insane in price and just don't make sense to buy. If you have a file over 23.1gb in size you can rar it into smaller pieces to spread out onto the discs. So thats my simple look on things. Remember to back up in several places and on not only multiple hard drives but also m-discs and store them in fireproof safes in the corner of your basement and if possible put bricks around the safe to visually stealth it and as well add an extra barrier to the fire and heat.

[ATX] Using this case for a photo/media storage server and there is plenty of space for storage and great airflow. A wonderful case to build in and maintain. Fractual has used great materials for the construction of this case. Highly recommend!
