[Aluminum, Steel] This is the only stand that you can quickly adjust up or down when you are holding an instrument and have only one hand free. You just step on the foot of the stand and push the display up or down. All of the other music stands require you to loosen an tightening knob, move the display, and then re-tighten the knob. Takes much longer and usually takes two hands in contrast to the QuikLok Music Stand. The only accessory that you might need, to keep those music book pages open is a clothes pin or some advanced version of such to keep the pages of a thicker book open. I did not purchase this item from B&HPhoto, and I've had one of these for over 30 years and it still works perfectly.

[5/8" Receiver] This works great and allows me to attach my microphone clip to the boom on my sturdy light stand. The sturdy set up means that the microphone stand will not fall on expensive instruments.

[Stereo] I bought this shockmount for use with Neumann KM184, which are extremely sensitive to movement, shock and vibration even at very low, even almost subsonic frequencies. If I use a conventional mic clip on a stand on stage for example, I get booming footsteps through the stand/clip. I have tried several other rubber-band style mounts, which help slightly, but still not acceptable. This lyre type clip is the best I have tried. Any residual noise is at such low frequency, that I can filter most of it with a highpass at 20 or 30 Hz. But to be truly effective, however, you can not use standard microphone cables (1/4 diameter) because the stiff mic cable puts stress on the lyre and makes it less effective. Moreover, the cable itself conducts mechanical noise to the microphone body. To get the best performance, use a cable made with Mogami 2697 super thin balanced mic cable, make a small loop behind the mic and clip the cable into the strain-relief built-in to the back of this clip. If you have a long mic cable run, just use a 3' pigtail of the thin cable at the mic for this purpose.

[Black] I purchased this in order to mount a microphone to the 'book table' of a music stand. This clamp is very sturdy. it clamps tightly to the thin metal 'table' and holds the microphone very securely. This is a suitable and inexpensive solution for our needs.
