[Cardioid] Until now I have used various mics on short mic stands as pickups for my acoustic cello. I had tried various contact mics which tend to give an electronic instrument sound and require attachments which are not convenient. A friend recommended the Shure and I used it first time in performance - straight out of the box. Super satisfied with it. Attaches easily in 5 seconds to the tail piece and with the mic super close to the f hole it was the first time I could actually hear the cello from the speaker system - in fact I had to limit the gain. As a result very low pickup of ambient sounds. Plus no tripod to lug. Less lugging is always better.

[12 MP] I purchased this primarily to record cello since it seemed to have a good response across the cello's wide frequency range. It's worked well for that -- which also means it's been good for voice as well. It's been a great mic to have in my arsenal at a reasonable price.

[1 x 1/4" TRS] This small amp packs more tone and clarity than you would think possible. Bob Sima uses these with acoustic guitars and headset mics and they sound great. I used mine today for a small acoustic gig. GREAT for small rooms where you just need a little boost because playing unamplified just doesn't quite cut it. The ONLY thing I wish they had done differently would have been to have a mid control on the vocal channel. Instrument channel has low, mid, and high. Vocal channel just has low and high. I agree with some other reviews that I've seen that the LoudBox Mini sounds better than some of the larger models. They got something right with this one.

[0.9] so far I used the fat head for acoustic guitar, electric guitar cab and vocals. It provides a warm and natural sound I could not achieve with my condensers or my sm57. the highs are open but not harsh, I wouldn't count on it to pierce through a dense mix on vocals, but for folk rock kind of stuff it's beautiful. On acoustic I used it as the mid mic in a mid\side configuration with a 414 as side, I had to pull out a little around 200hz, loved the warmth and openness it provided. can't wait to give it a try on some brass. It's surprisingly heavy and feels serious.

[White] Excellent lens when 600mm is too extreme for the mid range grouping
