[5 to 85%] I have been searching for years to find a DisplayPort to HDMI converter that will work with my old 27 iMac (Late 2009). Every other active adapter I tried would only display a max resolution of 1080p and no higher. And for some reason other adapters would register the display as a TV rather than a monitor. But this active adapter actually works! It mirrors the iMac display at 1440p as well as many other options. Of course I had to use a miniDP to DP adaptor, but that's beside the point. Finally! A solution!

[0.05 lb] As several of the other reviews have commented, this is an adapter, not a converter. If your component has S-Video output and VGA, though your VGA port, this works perfect. However, only a small percentage of components have this output. PC's usually do, so if that is what you are trying to convert, you might be good. Recommendation... check carefully, you likely will need a converter and not an adapter.

[0.7 lb / 0.3 kg] I recently discovered a workaround for the three HDMI inputs that quit working on my Vizio TV. They stopped working over a year ago. I saw a YouTube video that showed how to use the VGA input on the TV to make HD video available to me once again. Using this product, along with an HDMI switcher I already owned, a short VGA cable, and a short stereo 1/8 audio cable HD video is once again available to me. The DVR and Blu-ray player plug in to switcher. The converter plugs into the output of the switcher. The short VGA goes between the converter and the TV. The short audio cable connects to the converter and the TV. Simple as that and it worked on the first try.

[10 to 80% ()] It's always better to have single cable, than to use an adapter and a cable. This one does the job of connecting a DisplayPort to HDMI device.

[5 to 90% ()] I had it plugged into my computer and then used a gigaware adapter to convert from Mini DisplayPort into DisplayPort (which is what my monitor had available). This adapter worked fine from my usb-c enabled iMac and MacBook too, into an older 24 inch Samsung monitor at monitor's resolution (2560x1440).

[90°] I really like this monitor; but, I do want to add that if you are going from a VGA connector to the HDMI connection I found I had to have a HDMI mini adapter for the HDMI as my graphic board only had a small HDMI input...perhaps this will help someone in the future.
