Mirrorless Camera With High Iso

[400] In the old days, a slow speed film such as this tended to give extremely high contrast. I bought this film out of curiosity, loaded it in my Leica M4-2, and then I forgot what film I had loaded in that camera. I thought that the camera contained an ISO 50 film. So, I shot the entire roll at ISO 50, and only after I unloaded the camera did I realize what happened. I sent the film off for push developing 1 stop. I was expecting a soot and chalk type of contrast. Instead, what I got back were beautifully sharp and detailed images, with very finely nuanced tonal gradation from black to white. It scanned very easily also. When I lightened up the tones in the shadows, more and more detail would crop up. I took some photos of my office manager at her desk, and you can literally read the letter on her desk, even though the letter is in the bottom right hand corner of the frame. (Leica 35mm Summicron ASPH also helped). I'm really impressed with the tonal breadth and high resolution of this film.

As a long time DSLR user I've been waiting several years for a high quality compact camera. The minute I saw this camera it intrigued me enough to order it without waiting for press reviews. My use for the E-P1 has been for family, public photography (candids), and general advanced amateur usage. It doesn't make my kids cringe when I bring it out and when used in public doesn't merit a second glance from others. The photo quality is absolutely on-par with my DX sensor DSLR's. I was worried about the high ISO performance but have take some nice, sharp, detailed shots at ISO 1,250 and believe it performs better than my Nikon D200 (but not quite as well as my D90). Positives: - Great photo quality/IQ - Responsive and real-world quick - Great color rendition (in natural jpg mode) - Low profile, quiet - 14-42mm lens is sharp wide open at all focal lengths - Autofocus when using movie mode - Useful creative shooting modes Could be better: - Battery life - LiveView can generate heat - No jack to use external microphone - Grip patch on front is slicker than I'd like. Wish it were rubber The bottom line is that if you have wanted a compact camera that can go with you nearly anywhere, not attract attention and has full manual controls -- then this camera is worth serious consideration.

[Sony L-Series] Excellent camera, dynamic range are very good, high iso look's perfect. i will suggest this camera to every one that will step up to E2.

[Download] My mirrorless gear has a very broad range of usable ISO's, shutter speeds and f stops. This meter has the flexibility to handle all of them. In addition it allows me to meter the way I often shoot which is manual metering with auto ISO.
