Mono Car Amplifier

[1 RU] I use this amplifier in bridge mono to feed a 70-volt transformer for distributed P.A. horn/drivers. It seems to have plenty of headroom and provides clean audio with no distortion when used within its rated specs. Solid and well-built.

[7.3 x 3.5 x 2"] Ill first start by saying that this amplifier has a nice sturdy metal build. While there are many uses for this device I am using it along side my mixer board. Sometimes I need an extra headphone out and this works well. I just took a long 1/4 cable and plugged it into one of my mono outs and then into this Polsen amplifier. Since it is a mono source you can simply move the internal switch from stereo to mono. That way you can have sound in both of your headphones. So far it works great for the way that I'm using it and its plenty loud. Just be careful when sliding the case back on as you can accidentally pinch some exposed wires that hang near the battery tray. The only thing I have not tested is how long the batteries will last as you will need batteries to operate it. This would be a great option for live performers or someone like me who just needed an extra headphone out. [I received this product in exchange for my honest review.]

[0.48 lb] I used this unit to provide needed gain and to interface an internet streaming box to a digital signal processor which provides modulation to a mono low power (30 watts) FM transmitter. I needed two independent mono amplifiers so I modified both section 1 and section 2 of the unit. I isolated the two rear gangs of the level 1 and the level 2 controls, from their circuits and modified the wiring so that the level 1 control independently controls one mono amplifier, while the level 2 control still independently controls the other mono amplifier. It would be nice if a switch could be included that would accomplish what I have done, without the need to modify the circuit.

[16.265 lb] I've had Sony players in the past. I've also used bluray players as transports. My car cd player does a good job and I've never had problems with loading or unloading through its slot load system. But when I purchased a new amplifier and speakers, I wanted to make sure I was getting the most from my cd collection. After reading a few reviews, I decided to go all in on this unit. I'm glad I did. It is the most silent transport I've ever had. It is a sturdy case, which helps avoid jars and jumps. The music that comes from it is clear and the soundstage is wide. It makes the most of the recordings and the NAD C328 amplifier, which is what one desires from a transport.
